Jana Kramer Almost Joined This Real Housewives Cast

Actor Jana Kramer got her start on television, appearing as character Alex Dupre on "One Tree Hill" in the early 2000s. Although she didn't join the show until Season 7, she still made lots of memories with her fellow cast-mates, even though things were tense at first.

"Everyone is really close, and it's kind of frustrating because I'm like, 'Why couldn't we have all be friends then?"' Kramer said, per E! News, on her podcast in a January 2021 episode, with guests James Lafferty (who played Nathan) and her now ex-husband, Michael Caussin.

In the years since "One Tree Hill" ended in 2012, Kramer has since set her sights on creating music, releasing two studio albums. She has also continued acting, this time in smaller film roles themed to the holidays. Kramer's Nashville mansion has also garnered attention, mainly for its extravagance, according to the Today.

However, the actor has surprised "Real Housewives" fans with the reveal of which city's cast she almost joined.

Jana Kramer almost joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Although actor and country musician Jana Kramer lives in Nashville, she recently shared a surprising fact: she almost joined the cast of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." Back in July 2020, she shared that she and her then-husband Michael Caussin had applied for the show. Now, Kramer has followed up with Us Weekly to share just what her status on the reality show would've been: as a friend of Teddi Mellencamp.

"I never heard anything. I mean, once Teddi [Mellencamp] got let go, that was pretty much [it], because I was going to come on as her friend. I feel so bad for Teddi because I love Teddi. I didn't know all the drama that went down but I do love her," Kramer said.

"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" cast-mate Mellencamp was removed from the series in September 2020, after three seasons, according to Vulture. However, many might be wondering how Mellencamp and Kramer even crossed paths in the first place, let alone close enough to her joining the show.

Jana Kramer is a singer like Teddi Mellencamp's father

For younger viewers of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" who might not know, former cast-mate Teddi Mellencamp is the daughter of country musician John Mellencamp. This might be how she crossed paths with friend Jana Kramer, also a musician and an actor, who was almost brought onto the franchise — prior to Teddi's departure. Late in 2021, Kramer revealed she has an album on the way, during an interview with SheKnows.

Specifically speaking about the release of her new song, Kramer said, "It just kind of brought me to my knees because it was just such a song that I needed it. I feel that a lot of people with negative voices in our head, it's really kind of hard to get out of that headspace. This song kind of helped me realize that, like, OK, like I don't need to listen to these voices because they're not doing anything for me, they're not serving me. And I'll be better if I get up and start believing the other voices in my head, the positive ones," she shared.
