Sam Smith Announces Title Of New Single

Get ready for Sam Smith's big return!

After revealing that a new song would drop on Sept. 8, 2017, the British singer announced more details about his upcoming single—including its title and its accompanying artwork.

In a post on Instagram on Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, Smith shared a photo of himself holding up a record for his soon-to-be released single, "Too Good at Goodbyes."

"'Too Good At Goodbyes'. 8th September 2017. So excited for you to hear the new single xx," he wrote.

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Smith first teased the single's release on Instagram on Thursday, Aug. 31. In a text image, he wrote, "To my beautiful fans, first of all I want to say thank you. Thank you for being so patient and for letting me have the past year to really escape into my mind & write music so freely. I feel so rejuvenated and have so many stories I can't wait to tell you."

The 25-year-old continued, "I have missed you all desperately, and a day hasn't gone by when I haven't been looking at all your comments & dreaming of singing with you all again. The wait is so nearly over. Something is coming very very very very soon. I am scared and excited at the same time. I've poured my soul and heart into this record. Love you all, and see you in the not so distant future."

Since then, Smith has taunted fans with the promise of a new song with billboards advertising his single's future release.
