Inside Ray Liotta's Relationship With Lady Gaga

"Goodfellas" actor Ray Liotta died in his sleep at the age of 67 while filming a movie in the Dominican Republic, per Deadline. TMZ reports that his fiancee, Jacy Nittolo, was with him. Liotta was previously married to Michelle Grace from 1997 to 2004, and they have one daughter, Karsen, also an actor, per The U.S. Sun. On speaking about his divorce in 2007 to The Guardian, the "Field of Dreams" star revealed that he was reluctant to re-enter the dating game. "It's been a few years now ... Dating, I haven't really gotten into that at all. I've only had one or two dates in the past couple of years. It's either going to happen, or not. I'm hoping that it is." He later added, "I would love to be in a relationship with the right person. That's the key — the right person."

He seemingly felt like he got his wish when he and Nittolo announced their engagement in December 2020. "Christmas wishes do come true. I asked the love of my life to marry me, and thank God she said yes!!!" he wrote on Instagram, tagging Nittolo and his daughter Karsen. Nittolo's latest Instagram post was a pic of the happily engaged couple kissing on a beach in Saint Thomas, so we can assume she felt the same.

However, in the years between his divorce from Grace and his engagement to Nittolo, rumors swirled for a time that he was secretly dating the one and only Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga and Ray Liotta's dinner date sparked romance rumors

"The Edge of Glory" songstress Lady Gaga has been in a relationship with Michael Polansky for over two years now, and was previously engaged to Taylor Kinney. In 2016, around the time of her split with Kinney, Page Six reported that the pair was spotted at L'Artusi restaurant in Manhattan's West Village. A spy was quoted as saying, "They looked super chummy and like they know each other well."

It's safe to assume they got to know each other two years prior on the set of "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," in which they both acted (per IMDb). Perhaps their dinner date was less romance and more business talk, seeing as how later that year, Liotta was in talks to join Mama Monster and Bradley Cooper in "A Star Is Born," per The Hollywood Reporter. We now know that didn't happen, although we could totally see him portraying her Italian father in the movie, as they both come from Italian families. (Liotta was adopted into an Italian family, per Esquire.)

In the end, a rep told Page Six that rumors of their budding romance were greatly exaggerated, saying, "Ray is friends with Stefani [Germanotta, Lady Gaga's birth name] and her dad."
