Madonna Makes Stand-Up Debut With Amy Schumer
Madonna is trying out her new act as a stand-up comedian.
According to Entertainment Tonight, the pop icon got her start in comedy this week, joining Amy Schumer on stage at the famous Comedy Cellar in New York City on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017.
The "Vogue" singer, 59, took to Instagram to share her exciting debut with her fans. "And the next minute, I was tagging along with @amyschumer at @nyccomedycellar making my stand-up debut!" she captioned a snapshot of herself sharing the stage the Trainwreck star. "What a thrill. Finally busted my cherry.🍒🍒🍒 Thank you, Amy!"
Schumer, who was the only woman to make Forbes' highest-paid comedians list this year, also showed off Madonna's surprising comedy chops on social media. "We'd like to thank @nyccomedycellar for taking a chance on our new act," the 36-year-old jokingly wrote.
But those in attendance were not only treated to the "Express Yourself" singer's new jokes — which, by the way, we are dying to hear. Comedians Aziz Ansari, Jon Stewart, Louis C.K., and Pete Holmes also joined the duo in the evening's epic line-up. And the club's patrons were understandably freaking out. One person excitedly tweeted, "Saw THE greatest line-up I'm EVER gonna witness: Aziz Ansari, Jon Stewart, Louis CK, Amy Schumer & MOTHERF'N MADONNA! #ComedyCellar #NY."
Meanwhile, another fan, who was seemingly in shock, wrote, "Went to the Comedy Cellar. Never been. This is who showed up. Pete Holmes. Aziz Ansari. John [sic] Stewart. Louis CK. Amy Schumer. Madonna. Yup." No big deal, right?

According to Us Weekly, Schumer and Madonna's friendship goes back a couple of years. The two had previously joined forces in 2015, when Schumer opened for the Queen of Pop during her Rebel Heart tour stops in New York City. The following year, Madonna returned the favor to kick off Schumer's sold out stand-up show at Madison Square Garden, introducing her friend as a "genius of comedy."
