Heidi Klum's Ex-Boyfriend Vito Schnabel Arrested
The art dealer was taken into police custody in early September 2017.
TMZ reports that Vito Schnabel, ex-boyfriend of supermodel Heidi Klum, was arrested at Burning Man by Pershing County Sheriffs on Sept. 3, 2017, and charged with the felony of "distribution and manufacture of a controlled substance."
According to the celeb gossip site, Schnabel, 31, was found in possession of Psilocybin, otherwise known as psychedelic mushrooms—which is considered a "Schedule I controlled substance." Radar Online notes that he was held on $5,000 bond and released the same day as his arrest.
Schnabel has pleaded not guilty to the charges. If convicted, he could potentially spend five years behind bars.
He reportedly has a court hearing scheduled for Oct. 17, 2017.
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Klum, 44, was rumored to have taken "time apart" from Schnabel, as a result of their busy schedules on opposite coasts. The two had been together for about three and a half years.
Klum and Schnabel's breakup was later confirmed by Us Weekly. A source told the magazine that there had "been trouble in paradise for a little while."
