Patton Oswalt, Meredith Salenger To Marry In November

Patton Oswalt and Meredith Salenger are nearly ready to walk down the aisle, and we found out via...Twitter troll?

According to Page Six, Oswalt let slip on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017 that he and his bride-to-be are set to marry on Saturday, Nov. 4. Apparently, a Twitter user unkindly wrote, "So sorry, but @PattonOswalt is a loser." But the 48-year-old comedian didn't miss a beat. "YOU'RE sorry?" he replied. "Think how @MeredthSalenger feels. In 27 days she's shackled to me for life while I spiral into oblivion."

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Oswalt and Salenger, 47, announced their engagement in July 2017 via Instagram with an adorably silly snapshot. The happy couple had made their public debut one month prior, hitting the red carpet and holding hands at the New York City premiere of Baby Driver

The joyous news of their engagement came just 15 months after the tragic passing of Oswalt's wife of 11 years, Michelle McNamara. On April 21, 2016, she died unexpectedly in her sleep at the age of 46. It was later revealed that the crime novelist's cause of death was a lethal combination of prescription medication and a heart condition that went undiagnosed. Oswalt, who has remained open about processing his grief ever since, now cares for their 8-year-old daughter, Alice.

Despite suffering such a heartbreaking loss, the funnyman seems to be doing as well as can be. And in August 2017, he couldn't help but gush over his fiancée during an interview with Playboy. "If I really boil it down, she brings me — and I've rarely experienced this with someone — excitement and calm, which sounds contradictory," Oswalt said. "I'm excited, but because she gives me something that is so secure and calming, I don't have to question and worry about it. There are no mind games. I'm calm enough to let the excitement really grow, you know?"

Congratulations to the soon-to-be-married couple!
