Aaron Carter Returns To Rehab
Aaron Carter is headed back to rehab.
According to Entertainment Tonight, the "Sooner or Later" singer returned to a health and wellness facility where he had previously sought treatment on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017. "Aaron has taken care of the legal and financial matters that required his attention and returned to the wellness facility to complete his program," the 29-year-old's rep told the publication.
As Nicki Swift previously reported, shocking revelations about the former child star's physical and mental health were made during his mid-September appearance on The Doctors, where he took a drug test. Benzodiazepines and opiates from prescription medications were found in his system, which concerned the doctors. It was recommended he go to rehab, which took some convincing.
However, Carter left the center much earlier than planned on Friday, Oct. 6. "Several legal and personal matters arose that required his immediate in person attention," the singer's rep told E! News at the time. "He is still very much committed to his wellness and will be continually working toward being the best possible person."
Amid this announcement, a source told ET that Carter was "extremely disappointed that he had to leave the facility" in the first place, adding, "He was doing very well. He gained a significant amount of weight and was getting stronger by the day." The "Aaron's Party" rapper even took to Instagram to show off his 30-pound weight gain during his short time in rehab with a side-by-side photo, which has since been deleted. "On the left 115 on the right 145," he captioned the snapshot (via ET). "Continuing to focus on myself and my health. Sorry I couldn't wait to show you till 2018 #proudofmyself #StressFree."
We're also proud of Aaron for continuing to seek help, particularly after such a difficult year, which has included his infamous arrest for alleged DUI and marijuana possession, an ongoing public feud with Backstreet Boy brother Nick, a breakup with girlfriend Madison Parker after coming out as bisexual, and the death of his father.
As always, we're wishing Carter the best.
