Kris Jenner's Grandchildren Call Her By This Unique Name
Kris Jenner might be a lot of different things to a lot of different people, but at home, she's the Kardashian matriarch — and simply just mom. While she has certainly raised an eyebrow or two over the questionable things that she's done her for her kids, she's also managed to make her family a global brand, so to speak. Speaking about her family's fame and their reality show, "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," Jenner told Interview in 2012, "You've watched my little girls grow up, you've watched people get married and have babies and graduate from school and go to college. You know, it's like so much that goes on in any family, but it's magnified and dramatic, because that's who we are."
And while there's no doubt that the Kardashians are a family like no other, it seems like Jenner is a grandmother like no other, too. That's because her grandchildren have a very unique nickname for her and it's one that you certainly don't hear much too often, either.

When it comes to the world of celebrity grandmothers, many of them have creative nicknames that their families call them. For instance, Tom Hanks liked to be called "pappou," while Rita Wilson is called "yia yia," in Greek, per ET, while Goldie Hawn likes to be called "Glam-ma," because there's nothing more glamorous than a grandmother who loves to spend time with the youngest members of the fam, right? Hawn told The New York Times in 2011 that she doesn't like the word grandmother because it is a "word that had so many connotations of old age and decrepitude."
Well, while no one knows if Kris Jenner feels the same way, she did tell People in 2013 that there was a special meaning behind the name. She said (via the Daily Mail), "At first I was Grandma, and all of a sudden I didn't like the way that sounded, my mom had a friend called Lovey and I thought that was the cutest name." It's a name that Jenner even wears proudly as she wore a necklace with "Lovey" on it ahead of a Harper's Bazaar photoshoot in 2016.
Now, as far as how Lovey feels about her children having children outside of marriage is actually quite surprising.

While there's no doubt that Kris Jenner loves being Lovey to her grandchildren, she did admit that she was still a bit old school when it came to her views on marriage and children. While on "The Martha Stewart Podcast," Jenner said that she immediately got pregnant soon after she married her husband Robert Kardashian. She stated, "I had Kourtney nine months, two weeks and two days later" (via E! News). "I know that because all the Armenian ladies were probably counting ... I promise I got pregnant on my honeymoon. You know, those were the days where — I'm very old fashioned."
But when Stewart asked Jenner about her daughters getting pregnant out of wedlock, she responded with, "I get more and more understanding. I get what this generation — and I have so many generations now in my family — I guess there's such a big age difference." That, and she also told People that she worries about her grandkids getting bullied because of their family's fame. She said, "They don't have a choice ... And I worry, I do, because it is such a bullying environment." It sounds like Jenner isn't just a Lovey, but someone who produces and gives a whole lot of love and understanding, too. That's the best kind of Lovey to have, right?
