Taylor Swift Releases New Song 'Call It What You Want'
On Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, Taylor Swift released the fourth track off her upcoming album, Reputation, titled "Call It What You Want."
The song takes a similar cue from her previous single, "Gorgeous," as she sings about a boy with whom she is head-over-heels in love.
"My baby's fit like a daydream," she sings in the song's chorus. "Walking with his head down / I'm the one he's walking to / So, call it what you want, yeah / Call it what you want to."
At the same time though, she also appears to be addressing haters the way she did in "Look What You Made Me Do," albeit in a more subtle way. In the second verse, for example, she sings about her flowers growing back as thorns and "drama queens taking swings," all of which fade away thanks to this mysterious new boy, for whom she wants to wear his initial 'round her neck.
Does this mean, then, that she's singing about her new boyfriend, the actor Joe Alwyn, whom she met following her disastrous 2016? At this point, call it what you want.
Reputation hits shelves on Nov. 10.
