Harry Styles Set To Perform At Victoria's Secret Fashion Show
The "Only Angel" singer will officially be joining the Victoria's Secret angels on stage at the 2017 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai.
Ed Razek, chief creative officer of the lingerie line and executive producer of the annual fashion show, said in a statement to People that Styles signed on as a performer months ago.
"We started booking our musical guests months ago when Harry Styles, international superstar, signed on," Razek said.
Razek also revealed the other performers slated to take the stage.
"Also appearing are Grammy award-winning artist Miguel, Tony award-winning star of Hamilton Leslie Odom Jr., and Chinese sensation Jane Zhang," Razek announced. "We are incredibly thrilled to have them with us."
This confirmation of performers for the fashion show comes just one day after news broke that rumored main act, Katy Perry, would not be able to make it to China after she was denied a visa to gain entry into the country.
Perry isn't the only notable name whose presence will be missed at this year's fashion show.
Model Gigi Hadid took to Twitter on Nov. 16, 2017, to announce that she wouldn't be able to make it to China this year. Runway models Julia Belyakova, Kate Grigorieva, Irina Sharipova, and Dasha Khlystun also had to drop out after not being able to get temporary work visas (via Fashionista).
Despite all the drama surrounding the fashion show over the past few days, Razek told People that this year's show is "coming together beautifully".
"The news reports I've been reading from the US here in Shanghai regarding this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show are not an accurate reflection of what I'm seeing and experiencing on site," he said. "This will, without question, be the biggest fashion event in history and our most ambitious show by far. The event is well in hand and coming together beautifully. We have more models than ever before – 55 representing 17 countries, and four world-class entertainers."
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is scheduled to air on CBS on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
