Why Hailey Bieber Was Once A Fan Of Justin's Relationship With Selena Gomez
Hailey Bieber, formerly Hailey Baldwin (daughter of Stephen Baldwin), has never been shy about her life. From telling folks about her favorite sex positions with her husband Justin Bieber to going to therapy, she is comfortable telling it like it is. The actress and model is also known for being adorable with her husband, especially in celebrating wedding anniversaries.
Although Beiber and Baldwin got married in secret in 2018, the two often share sweet moments on social media today. For their four-year anniversary, Hailey shared photos via Instagram of the couple, beginning with a stunning image of the two kissing with her wedding veil in full view. Her cascading veil read, "Till death do us part." She captioned the post with, "Four years married to you. The most beautiful human I've ever known ... love of my life. Thank God for you."
But, famously, before these two became an item, Justin and Selena Gomez were a couple. And while folks have strong opinions about that, even Hailey was once a big Justin/Selena shipper.
Hailey was a big fan of Justin and Selena's relationship
In a now-deleted tweet captured by The Cut, Hailey Bieber tweeted in 2011 about Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez's relationship. At the time, she wrote: "I don't care what anyone says, but Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez together is the definition of a teenage dream! #word." But that's not all! She actually tweeted on the subject before that, per The Cut. A few months before her September 2011 tweet, she wrote, "I'm for sure 100% team #Jelena."
Bustle discovered that in 2012, Hailey also replied to a tweet (now deleted) saying that Gomez was perfect for Justin and that she would be single forever. The outlet also found a deleted tweet about how disappointed Hailey was that she didn't spot the famous couple at a Vanity Fair party in 2012. So, per usual, Hailey wasn't shy about her opinions — which is just funny now, considering she's married to Justin. That hasn't stopped folks from thinking that she and Gomez have bad blood because of their relationships with Justin.
Hailey denies stealing Justin from Selena
During a recent podcast episode for the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, Hailey Bieber denied outright that she stole Justin Bieber from his former girlfriend, Selena Gomez. She told the outlet that Jelena fans hound her about her relationship with Justin — however, there is no feud between Hailey and Gomez. Despite rumors to the contrary, there was no overlap between Hailey and Justin's relationship and Selena and Justin's. Yahoo! reports that Selena and Justin split for the last time in early 2018 before Justin and Hailey reconciled their on-again-off-again relationship in June 2018.
Despite Selena and Hailey both breaking things off with Justin multiple times in their dating periods, Hailey told the podcast that she never dated Justin again when he was dating anyone else. She also added that she believes a lot of the vitriol from fans about their relationship stems from getting married so young. Hailey explained that she and Selena have spoken in the four years since she married Justin. So, it seems this supposed feud is nothing more than speculation.
