Why Anna Camp's First Marriage To Michael Mosley Ended

Anna Camp has drawn a whole lot of attention to her private life since making it big as an actor. You may best recognize this star for her various starring roles in big time TV shows, including (of course!) playing Aubrey in "Pitch Perfect" or Jolene in "The Help." But those are hardly her only big acting gigs, as this star has also popped up over the years in the likes of "The Mindy Project," "The Good Wife," and "True Blood."

But, sadly, away from her major TV and movie roles, there's been a little heartache in the love department. Camp is now happily loved up with drummer Michael Johnson, and the two have no problem showing off their love on Instagram (including this adorable post of them sharing a kiss in front of a field full of flowers shared back in April or this cute shot showing them grinning when they went Instagram official in March 2020), but before that love came two divorces.

Camp's first high-profile marriage split came when her first husband Michael Mosley (who you may recognize from the likes of "Castle," "Ozark," and "The Sinner) called it off in 2013. But why did they really go their separate ways?

Anna Camp and Michael Mosley separated on New Year's Day

Anna Camp's first divorce came about when Michael Mosley filed to end their marriage, with TMZ reporting her cited "irreconcilable differences" on court documents as the reason for their split after three years of marriage. News of the split went public in February 2013, but Mosley claimed the date of their separation was actually New Year's Day 2013, which we're sure certainly wasn't the best way to ring in the New Year.

Both appeared to stay pretty quiet about what exactly caused their marriage to end, though there was speculation at the time that her newfound romance with the man who would go on to be her second husband, Skylar Astin, may have played a part in the split. As source denied any crossover when Camp and her "Pitch Perfect" co-star went public with their romance in June 2013 though, telling Us Weekly, "[They] had a great connection and became friends, but nothing romantic happened until after she separated from her husband. They have amazing chemistry." Another insider added of the twosome, "[They've] known each other for a while. They met through mutual friends and then worked together."

Camp and Astin went on to tie the knot in October 2016, but divorced just over two years later. They confirmed the split to People in April 2019, with a source claiming at the time, "[Astin] stopped wearing his ring and has started talking about the split with friends."

What Anna Camp said about her divorces

Of course, a divorce is never easy — never mind two in the space of six years. But it seemed like Anna Camp was keeping her head up in the wake of her sad splits with Michael Mosley and Skylar Astin. "It's been really scary and liberating at the same time. I'm 36 years old. I've had some life changes go on, and I feel more me than I ever, ever have," she at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour in the summer of 2019 (via E! News). "It's a vulnerable place to be, but it's also really empowering," she continued, adding, "I just feel really grounded and that the decisions I've been making have been for the best. So, that's good."

It wasn't too long before this star found love again, either. Camp started dating Michael Johnson the following year, and the two certainly seemed very loved up in April. The "Pitch Perfect" star shared a selfie to Instagram that showed her laying on a bed covered in red rose petals as she gushed over the musician's sweet gesture. "Was last night Easter or Valentine's Day?" she asked in the caption, tagging her boyfriend alongside several red heart and cactus emoji.

One thing's for sure, though. Single or otherwise, Anna Camp is one strong, talented, and totally stunning woman.
