In 2021, the two appeared on "Live with Kelly and Ryan" to promote their song "New Day." After the performance, Ryan Seacrest asked Firerose how the two had met. "We actually met 10 years ago on the set of 'Hannah Montanna,'" Firerose explained. While she didn't elaborate further, the news shocked some fans who took issue with the country singer being romantically involved with someone assumed to be younger than his daughter, Miley Cyrus. Firerose's age isn't widely known, but she's believed to be in her mid-20s, while Billy Ray is 61.
While they may have met for the first time on the set of "Hanna Montanna," they wouldn't cross paths again for a decade. According to Live with Kelly Ryan, Firerose reached out to Billy Ray when she needed help finishing "New Day." Additionally, when Tish filed for divorce in early 2022, she said in court documents that she and Billy Ray hadn't been living together in more than two years.
