What T.J. Holmes' Estranged Wife Really Does For A Living
After their reported extramarital affair was uncovered in November 2022, "Good Morning America" co-anchors T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach became the subject of tabloid spotlights. The Daily Mail shared photos of the journalists canoodling all around New York, while still respectively married to lawyer Marilee Fiebig and actor Andrew Shue. According to an OK! magazine source, the duo's affair was an open secret. "They had no shame going out together and have been publicly doing this for much longer than a month," the source claimed, adding that ABC employees turned "a blind eye because they didn't want the controversy."
While their relationship has stirred the public's imagination, insiders insist the couple split from their respective spouses before getting romantic. As a source told People, "This was two consenting adults who were each separated. They both broke up with their spouses in August within weeks of each other." Another insider claimed their romance began due to Robach's issues at home. "Amy was going through a heartache and TJ was very much there for her," the source explained.
Few were shocked when both Robach and Holmes reportedly divorced their spouses by the end of 2022. A source told Page Six that Robach's divorce was "almost finalized" by December, while Holmes filed his petition on December 28. With Holmes and Fiebig leaving behind 12 years of marriage, many remain curious about the other woman in his life. Here's what we know about how Holmes' ex-partner makes her living.
Marilee Fiebig specializes in immigration law
It's clear Marilee Fiebig carved her own professional path long before meeting ex T.J. Holmes. Obtaining her law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School, per her Unlock Her Potential bio, Fiebig has been using it for a greater cause for most of her career.
Specializing in immigration law for a decade before joining the corporate ranks, Fiebig brought the spirit of her former practice to her role at Save the Children. Serving as the non-profit's Chief Diversity Officer since June 2021, Fiebig implements the organization's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy and initiatives into its hiring processes, programs, and choice of collaborations. As Fiebig told Marie Claire in September 2021, her passion for immigration law was spurred by her own upbringing. "I watched my mom go through the immigration process, being married to a U.S. citizen, having children with dual nationalities at the time, and so that whole process struck a cord with me," she shared.
Fiebig has also used her law degree for good in both fashion and entertainment. As Wilhelmina Models' VP of Operations and General Counsel for three years, Fiebig worked to expedite the process for models immigrating to or applying to work in the United States. Prior to that, she was Chief of Staff at Roc Nation — Jay-Z's entertainment agency — where she worked closely with the CEO to weave diversity into legal and business endeavors companywide.
Marilee Fiebig is never too busy for mother-daughter time
Despite her worldly accomplishments and busy schedule, Marilee Fiebig has seemingly found a healthy work-life balance. As revealed in her September 2021 Marie Claire profile, downtime with her and T.J. Holmes' daughter, Sabine, was crucial to the working mom. "My routine changes as she gets more independent," she told the mag. Despite having a set morning schedule, Fiebig admitted, "I feel like she and I are always scrambling to get out of the house." Nevertheless, Fiebig said, "I love my walks with her because we talk about everything; it's nice to have that quality time together."
Fiebig's Instagram feed is brimming with moments from her and Sabine's one-on-one adventures. In April 2022, she uploaded an adorable video of the pair cruising through the streets of San Francisco in a go-car. "I don't know how I let her talk me into this s**t. But, it's always worth that laugh, that excitement, that time together, off screens, in the moment," Fiebig wrote.
On Christmas 2022, Fiebig even shared a personal photo of her and Sabine amidst the fallout of Holmes and Amy Robach's reported affair, per The U.S. Sun. The lawyer uploaded a smiley selfie of her and her daughter on her Instagram Stories, with the duo clothed in cozy winter scarves and jackets. Fiebig seemed over the drama that unfolded those past few months, writing in her caption that she was "exhausted but been counting down the days to this merry one."
