Who Is Joey King's Fiance, Steven Piet?

Joey King is ready to walk down the aisle with Steven Piet. In March 2022, "The Kissing Booth" cast member took to Instagram to announce her engagement to Piet. "The date was 2/2/22 when you asked me to marry you and made me the luckiest lady alive," King wrote, alongside images of herself and Piet during the outdoor proposal in the desert. "I love you more than an Instagram caption could ever do justice. Hanging out with you forever sounds like a real dream, so let's do it."

Piet, meanwhile, also posted images from the special occasion and voiced his excitement in planning to tie the knot with King. "The weather was less than perfect. Cold. Windy. Perfectly imperfect to ask my best friend to spend a lifetime together," Piet said. He added, "You've unlocked a dimension of love in me that I never knew existed." King has also shared glimpses into her relationship with Piet in the past, such as when she declared her love on Instagram in May 2021. "I have such a huge crush on you it's stupid," King said with a series of photos of her and Piet. "It's national you day my love, and I couldn't be happier that you're in my life and that I'm in yours. I love you." Piet is a professional in the entertainment industry who met King through work.

Steven Piet is a director and producer

Joey King's fiancé, Steven Piet, works in show business as a director and producer. As reported by People, Piet and King first encountered one another as they worked on the set of the Hulu show "The Act" in 2019. King starred alongside Patricia Arquette while Piet directed and produced episodes of the series. Prior to this, Piet had served as a consulting producer for "Nightflyers" and directed six episodes of "Channel Zero," as well as the film "Uncle John." Following "The Act," he has contributed to projects like the crime-drama show "Briarpatch" and the miniseries "A Friend of the Family."

An article published by Deadline in February 2019 stated that Piet is originally from Chicago and is a graduate of The Savannah College of Art and Design. After studying film at the university, Piet kicked off his career by producing projects in Chicago before making his way to Hollywood. In May 2019, Piet spoke to Vanity Fair about directing episodes of "The Act" and working with talented actors like King. "I felt like my job was to step back as much as I could, and just have the camera in the right place and let these amazing actors do what they do best ... At times, I was so lost in their performances that I was forgetting to say 'Cut,'" Piet said. In addition to being successful on-set collaborators, King and Piet are thriving as partners.

Joey King and Steven Piet 'really love spending time together'

Joey King and Steven Piet seem to make for a perfect pairing. In July 2022, King chatted with Allure about her harmonious relationship with Piet. "We work really well together. We also just really love spending time together," King said. "So getting to do something where we're both doing what we love and we get to hang out with each other, [that's] the best." The performer added that she and Piet "really love just being able to put [their] minds together."

A month prior, King had visited "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and talked to Chelsea Handler about her recent engagement. "[Piet] proposed on our three-year anniversary, which was February 2nd," King said. She added, "I get so giddy when I think about it. I just start crying when I think about our wedding, I'm so happy." King said she "pursued" Piet but didn't ask him out until filming of "The Act" had reached its conclusion. The love birds have continued to display their affection on social media. Piet honored King with a birthday post in July, writing on Instagram, "Happy Birthday my beautiful bride-to-be. It's crazy how much I love you." In December 2022, King shared images from when she traveled to see Piet for the holidays, which was a happy surprise for him. "I surprised Steven after a month apart, and idk man, these photos make my eyes wet. Happy holidays everybody," King wrote.
