Savannah Chrisley Opens Up About The Emotional Toll Of Her Parents' Prison Sentencing

"Chrisley Knows Best" star Savannah Chrisley is opening up even more about the emotional toll that her parents' prison sentence and subsequent time behind bars is having on her. Todd and Julie Chrisley were each sentenced to multiple years in federal prison in November 2022 and reported to prison to serve their sentences in January 2023. Since then, Savannah has opened up about the impact on Grayson and Chloe, of whom she has custody because of the incarceration.

On the February 7, 2023 episode of her podcast, "Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley," Savannah clarified that it hasn't been smooth sailing for her, either, amid her parents' incarceration and the added responsibility that has been put on her shoulders. Rather, Savannah recalled a particularly vulnerable moment that she went through, one that she described as being a "full-on breakdown" on her part.

Savannah Chrisley is feeling the weight of her new responsibilities

Per Page Six, the 25-year-old reality television star Savannah Chrisley isn't afraid to share her vulnerabilities on her podcast. On the Feb. 7, 2023, episode, "Hope Rises From the Dirt," Chrisley discussed what it has been like for her to take on a maternal role for 16-year-old Grayson and 12-year-old Chloe. Grayson Chrisley is her brother and Chloe Chrisley is her niece.

"The other night, I had a full-on breakdown," she said on the podcast. "I was trying to find Chloe proper clothes to go and visit my parents and find her hair stuff. I just sat down on the floor and started crying." She elaborated on her thought process at that moment, saying, "I am not my mother. How am I going to do this? I don't feel that I am worthy or capable enough of doing the job she's done for all her life."

Fortunately, it sounds as though Chloe doesn't think that Savannah is doing poorly as she steps into the parental role. She continued, "I was sitting there, and the next day Chloe said, 'You're doing a pretty good job. You made me ramen noodles last night.'" We're sure some days are going to be harder than others for everyone in the Chrisley family, but little victories like ramen noodles certainly help.
