Who Is Bridget Moynahan's Husband, Andrew Frankel?

Bridget Moynahan dated Tom Brady for three years before they split in 2006, and shortly after, the two hit an unexpected obstacle in their break up. The "Blue Bloods" actor discovered she was pregnant with Brady's child only months after calling it quits. To further complicate things, the quarterback had recently started dating his future wife, Gisele Bündchen. "You question at times — 'Should I stay here? Maybe you should work this out,'" Bündchen recalled thinking after discovering Moynahan's pregnancy (via Vanity Fair). She added, "But when people break up, it's for a reason."

Not only did Moynahan have a child with her former boyfriend, but the pair have done a stellar job of co-parenting. In August 2015, personal emails of Brady's were leaked, and among them was correspondence between the New England Patriots star and Moynahan which showed that they took pride in creating a positive environment for their son. Months later, the "John Wick" actor surprised people when she announced she had tied the knot with Andrew Frankel. The couple opted for nuptials so low-key, even guests were unaware of the occasion. A select number of family and friends were at the ceremony, and when other guests arrived, they were informed the party was to celebrate the newlyweds.

Moynahan told fans she was married by posting a photo of her and Frankel to Instagram. "Oh, by the way, guess what I just did," she cheekily wrote in the caption. Her husband was a departure from the type of guy she usually dated.

Andrew Frankel is a successful businessman

After a well-publicized past relationship with Tom Brady, Bridget Moynahan has kept her marriage to Andrew Frankel mostly under wraps. To celebrate their wedding anniversary in 2019, the "I, Robot" actor uploaded a throwback photo from their wedding day to Instagram, which was one of the rare times she posted about her beau on social media. While he may not be a recognizable name to the general public, Frankel is a major player in the finance industry. He is the co-president of Stuart Frankel & Co. — a company founded by his father — and is the oldest independent broker on the New York Stock Exchange.

Frankel joined the company in 1993 after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania. "Andrew runs international trading as well as domestic trading, while also overseeing all marketing for STFC," the company website reads. In addition to co-running the family business, Frankel is also the co-editor of Inside11Wall, a financial newsletter. Frankel has three sons — from relationships he had prior to marrying Moynahan — and two of them have followed closely in their father's footsteps. "I was so proud of my older sons this week as they started their summer internships working in finance," Frankel wrote in an article published on LinkedIn. One son started a summer banking program while the other was interning at a hedge fund. "Things are moving fast and I'm so happy for them," he added. Since marrying Frankel, Moynahan has opened up about what drew her to the businessman.

Why Bridget Moynahan wanted to date someone different

Shortly after marrying Andrew Frankel, Bridget Moynahan gushed about him while making public appearances to promote her new cookbook. "He's the nicest guy ever," the "Lord of War" actor said while appearing on "The Rachael Ray Show" in 2015 (via People). "Genuine, kind and sensitive. He's the best." This was during the couple's honeymoon period, but Moynahan continued to heap praise on her husband in subsequent interviews.

Two years into her marriage, the "Six Degrees" actor opened up about what set this relationship apart from past ones. "I finally figured it out in my forties that when it works, it works. There doesn't have to be drama," Moynahan said on "Live with Kelly & Ryan" in 2017. One of the reasons Moynahan was drawn to Frankel was that he was a businessman who operated outside of Hollywood. "What I learned was sometimes you have to fish in another pond, as the saying goes. I had been dating people in the industry," she told Glamour while discussing her marriage. As she previously mentioned, the "Crown Vic" actor was happy to avoid drama this time around. "I met a really solid, good human being with none of the pretension or all that other litter," Moynahan added.

Prior to their nuptials, an insider spoke to People about how Moynahan and Frankel met through a mutual friend and that the New York native was "on cloud nine" from that moment on. So, clearly, the two were crazy about each other from the very beginning.
