Tiger Woods Doesn't Mince Words About 'Jilted' Ex Erica Herman's Motives In New Court Filing
Tiger Woods and Erica Herman's relationship has hit a crossroads. After six years of dating, the pair went their separate ways. Though they never got engaged or tied the knot, the pair shared a long history and fans saw Herman by Woods' side for plenty of events, including during his inspiring Masters Tournament victory in 2019. But, things have gotten messy and we've seen a lot of the demise of the former couple's relationship play out in court.
According to the Daily Mail, Herman filed a lawsuit against Woods in hopes of removing a non-disclosure agreement that she signed at the start of their relationship. Woods' ex claims that the golfer forced her to sign the NDA and is seeking $30 million from the golfer for causing her "severe" emotional trauma and sexual assault, among several other things. The bombshell lawsuit, which Herman filed against Woods' trust in October 2022, also claims that Woods tricked Herman into going on vacation so he could lock her out of the home that they shared in Hobe Sound, Florida. She claims she should have been allowed to live in the home for "a certain duration of time" based on their "oral tenancy agreement." So where did she get the $30 million figure? The claim says that the number is the "reasonable rental value" on Woods' home if Herman were to live there for another five years, which she alleges was their agreement.
Now, Woods and his teams are fighting back at the claims.
Tiger Woods and Erica Herman's legal drama just got messier
New court documents reveal that Woods is not going down without a fight as he and his legal team responded to Herman's lawsuit. According to AOL, Woods' team slammed Herman for the way that she is going about things. "Ms. Herman does nothing more than cite 9 U.S.C. §§ 401-402 and its salacious title, 'The Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act,'" the filing reads. "She has never asserted any claims for sexual assault or sexual harassment, does not do so in this landlord-tenant action, and, if she is truthful, can never do so."
The pro golfer and his team didn't stop there. The same court documents refer to Herman as "a jilted ex-girlfriend who wants to publicly litigate specious claims in court, rather than honor her commitment to arbitrate disputes in a confidential arbitration proceeding." Ouch, tell us how you really feel. As of this writing, it does not appear as though Herman and her team have replied to these allegations but we're guessing it's only a matter of time.
While they were dating, Herman would regularly be seen at Woods' golf events, beginning in 2017 when she showed up to watch Woods compete in the President's Cup. The Florida native used to work in the restaurant business before she linked up with Woods.
