What We Know About Anna Wintour's Daughter Bee Shaffer

Bee Shaffer is often seen at the Met Gala alongside her mother, Anna Wintour, wearing stunning designer gowns. However, despite having a fashion icon for a mother, Bee prefers wearing jeans and t-shirts instead of haute couture. She has also shied away from the fashion industry and instead of following in her mother's footsteps at Vogue, she decided to take her career in a much different direction.

As for her mother, if there was such a thing as fashion royalty, Anna Wintour would be it. The global editorial director of Vogue has had a long career in women's fashion magazines, from Harper's Bazaar to Savvy, as well as a short run at New York Magazine. Wintour has been at the forefront of the infamous celebrity-studded Met Gala since 1995, and she not only decides who scores an invite, but also where the guests sit and what they eat.

Wintour's aloof and regimented personality earned her the nickname "Nuclear Wintour," but there is a soft side to her. She married her first husband David Shaffer in 1984 and together, they had their son, Charles Shaffer, in 1985 and their daughter, Bee Shaffer, in 1987. During an interview with Teen Vogue, Bee acknowledged that many would call her mother "very cold." However, she added, "I know that she is the most generous person you will ever meet. She puts everyone before herself always. So I know that's who she is."

Bee Shaffer worked in television production

When Bee Shaffer graduated from Columbia University in 2008, she was worried about her future. "I finish in May, and I'm really nervous about the fact nobody's hiring right now. I think everyone's going to have trouble finding a job. I know a lot of people graduating early, and they can't get anything," she told New York Magazine. At the time, she declared that she was "staying far away from Vogue."' It turned out Shaffer had nothing to worry about. After working for producer Ryan Murphy in Los Angeles for two years, she earned a spot at "Late Night With Seth Meyers" as a segment producer in 2014.

Shaffer had a long run at "Late Night" and announced her departure in 2017. "Thank you @latenightseth for an unforgettable 3 1/2 years. What an amazing opportunity to meet so many Hamilton cast members," she wrote on Instagram while sharing a snap of her with Meyers. According to Page Six, Shaffer decided to pursue a career in theater. "Bee is going to work for Ambassador Theatre Group," a source told the publication. Shaffer had a lot to celebrate that month, as a happy piece of news was revealed about her and her then-boyfriend, Francesco Carrozzini.

Bee Shaffer married the son of Vogue Italia's late editor-in-chief

In March 2017, People reported that Bee Shaffer and Francesco Carrozzini, son of Vogue Italia's late editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani, were engaged. The two were linked together the previous fall when they both attended the screening of the documentary "Franca: Chaos & Creation," but have remained mum about their relationship status. While Shaffer is pretty private about her personal life, she showed off a huge rock on her engagement ring finger during the 2017 Met Gala while with Carrozzini. "Thank you @alexandermcqueen for such a beautiful dress! And to Francesco for not stepping on it," she shared on Instagram.

Shaffer and Carrozzini got married on July 7, 2018, on Long Island, with actor Colin Firth officiating the wedding. Page Six reported that guests were not allowed to take pictures and had their phones confiscated during the wedding so that no snaps would be shared on social media. The newlyweds, however, made the cover of the Italian magazine, Chi, during their second wedding in Italy (via Women's Wear Daily). Shaffer wore an ankle-length lace gown with a matching veil while Carrozzini looked spiffy in a navy blue suit.

The couple welcomed their first child together, son Oliver Sozzani Carrozzini, on October 25, 2021. The following year, Shaffer celebrated her son's first birthday with a carousel of pics of Oliver on Instagram with the caption, "Happy Birthday little man – thank you for the best year of my life!" If he's anything like his parents, he'll grow up to be very talented indeed.
