Michael J. Fox's Wife Tracy Pollan Dated A Different Famous Actor First
Prior to getting hitched to Michael J. Fox, Tracy Pollan was linked to another performer. Fox and Pollan first encountered one another as they worked together for Fox's hit show, "Family Ties," per Hollywood Life. While Fox portrayed Alex P. Keaton, Pollan came on the series as a romantic partner of Alex's named Ellen Reed. This took place in 1985, and it was mentioned in a 2002 edition of O, The Oprah Magazine interview, via Oprah.com. Upon their first meeting, Pollan was not single, but she and Fox eventually began their relationship in 1987. "It wasn't that I wasn't attracted to [Fox]—I was just dating someone else," Pollan said.
As reported by People in 2023, Fox and Pollan went on to get married in Vermont in 1988. Per Closer Weekly, the actors have four children together: Sam, twins Aquinnah and Schuyler, and Esmé. At SXSW 2023, Fox and Pollan were asked about what has made their connection continue to thrive. "She's a remarkable woman," Fox said, via Austin American-Statesman. Pollan added, "I mean, you just listen to each other, you're there for each other. ... Additionally, in 2020 Fox praised Pollan as he chatted on "Today Show Radio" on SiriusXM. "She's my best friend, and she's the funniest person I know. And she's sexy ..." Fox said of his wife. Pollan took to Instagram in June 2021 to show Fox some love with a sweet birthday message. "Happy birthday to my favorite person, love of my life," Pollan wrote alongside a photo of herself and Fox on the beach. "Have the bestest day!" Pollan also shared via Instagram that she "could not be any prouder" of Fox as he received an honorary Oscar in 2022, per Today. In response, Fox commented that he is the "happiest man on the planet."
