"But, me and Sophia have been friends for like 10 years. We've been going to the beach pretty consistently for 10 years too. But, yeah, we're just homies and we love each other and it was fun." If Smith and Richie were just friends, they must have been pretty close because they didn't mind a bit of PDA on the beach, according to an unnamed source. The alleged informant told Us Weekly that Richie put her arms around her alleged ex-boyfriend at one point. "They only had eyes for each other," they claimed.

However, we can't eliminate the possibility that they were romantically involved because they spent quite a bit of time together. The celebs reportedly went bowling together in January 2017. They also enjoyed a walk through Beverly Hills together on a separate occasion. The duo even enjoyed each other's company at a Justin Bieber concert. We wonder if this was an awkward dynamic given Bieber's history with Richie.
