What Chrishell Stause Sent Justin Hartley's Daughter After Their Divorce
Divorce is never easy, especially when kids are involved. Just take a look at Justin Hartley and Chrishell Stause. The couple married in 2017, and although they didn't have a child of their own, the "This Is Us' actor already had a daughter, Isabella, from a previous marriage. During the couple's relationship, the "Selling Sunset" star grew incredibly close to Hartley's daughter.
Isabella was even set to play an important role in the couple's wedding. Hartley told People, "I think I'm going to have her do maybe the ring bearer and the flower girl, and maybe if she wants to she can sing." Even after the wedding, the trio enjoyed going on various outings. In 2018, all three had a nice night out in Los Angeles at a basketball game, per Just Jared. From weddings to hangouts, Stause and Isabella were closer than ever. But that all came crashing down when Hartley abruptly called it quits with the reality star.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Hartley split from Stause due to "irreconcilable differences" in 2019. The former soap actor was absolutely devastated by the news. A source shared, "Chrishell is still shocked that Justin filed for divorce and is devastated how everything is unraveling." What made the split worse was that Stause was not only breaking up with Hartley, but essentially splitting from Hartley's daughter Isabella, as well. The reality star was so devastated to lose her relationship with Isabella that she even wrote her a letter.
Chrishell Stause had to write Isabella a letter
You've heard of love letters, but have you heard of breakup letters? Well, now you have, because Chrishell Stause wrote one after her split from Justin Hartley. Surprisingly, however, it wasn't for the "This Is Us" actor, but for his daughter, Isabella. According to E! News, Stause revealed on "Selling Sunset" that she felt she had to write the young teen a letter. She said, "I love her [Isabella] so much and I had to write a letter to her." Although the reality star didn't reveal what she wrote in the letter, it definitely made her emotional. (How could it not?) Stause had been in a relationship with Hartley since 2013, according to People. So she had to have known Isabella for at least five years of her life. That's a lot of time to get to know someone and then all of a sudden become strangers.
Stause probably didn't wish that her and Isabella's relationship ended the way it did, but because Hartley split from the reality star so unexpectedly, it was the only way it could go down. The "Selling Sunset" star even shared how she found out not long before everyone else did, according to E! News. She said, "Before we had a chance to figure anything out, he filed. I found out because he texted me that we were filed. Forty-five minutes later, the world knew." The couple's relationship didn't end well. In fact, it only got worse.
Justin Hartley warned daughter about gossip amidst Chrishell Stause breakup
Chrishell Stause went from crying about Justin Hartley to throwing shade at the "This Is Us" star. According to Just Jared, Stause made a dig at her former husband during season 4 of "Selling Sunset." While having lunch with her co-stars, she shared, "I mean, if he wants to have 50 wives, like, go live your best life because I really feel like I am. Once you know something wasn't right...it's like, now... Out with the old, in with the new." Stause didn't say Hartley's name explicitly, but it wasn't hard to figure out. At the time, the "This Is Us" actor had just married his third wife, Sofia Pernas, so Stause was likely making a dig about her ex.
With "Selling Sunset" and "This Is Us" being incredibly successful, the couple's relationship was all over the news, and Hartley warned his daughter not to believe everything she read. He told Radio Andy, "I think people want to know about other people's personal affairs, but it's just, I would just caution people. I caution my daughter on this all the time. I said, 'You can't — you really can't just believe something because you read it.'" It was probably hard to ignore everything, especially once Stause began shading Isabella's father. Turns out the letter the reality star wrote wasn't enough to save her and Isabella's relationship because the young teen unfollowed the "Selling Sunset" star, according to The U.S. Sun.
