The Truth About Justin Hartley's Daughter Isabella
Justin Hartley has had many leading ladies in his life, but there's only one who has consistently been by his side throughout the years: his daughter, Isabella Hartley. The former "The Young and the Restless" star shares the young teen with his ex, Lindsay Korman, who he also credits for helping him successfully co-parent their daughter together over the years. In an interview with Us Weekly back in 2019, Justin put it this way, "Communication and an understanding of where everyone's coming from and realizing that it's hard. As much as you try to put yourself in other people's shoes, you're never fully going to be able to do it, but you should just make the effort. She's very resourceful, so I'm thankful that that's the case (and) I get a lot of help from my ex-wife. I get a lot of help from my daughter. I mean, she's the one that's making it all go around. She deserves all the credit."
With that said, a lot of people can't help but wonder which of her two former soap star parents Isabella is most like and whether or not she plans on walking in their famous footsteps, too.
Justin Hartley got the shock of his life with Isabella
Justin Hartley has a very tight relationship with his teen daughter Isabella Hartley, so much so that he's the one teaching her how to drive. During an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the Hollywood actor recalled a moment when his heart skipped a beat while Isabella was in the driver's seat of his car. "I'm kind of feeling loose and I open up the gummy bears and as I'm eating them — I'm shoving them in my mouth like a child — and I look up and we are cruising through a four-way — a red light," he said, per People. He said that they then pulled over and he told her, "That could have been my last gummy bear."
Driving lessons aside, while Isabella isn't your typical celebrity kid in Hollywood, she does often accompany her father on the red carpet and does have a social media presence, with more than 30,000 followers on Instagram. And while she has yet to appear in any films or television shows, her father Justin did hint that his daughter was turning down movie agents by the age of 14. He told People that after a movie scout approached her, Isabella told him that she was too busy with school. "It took me years to get anyone to pay attention to me! But whatever, good for her," the proud dad said. However, Justin did say that he is overly protective of Isabella when it comes to this aspect.
Fatherhood keeps Justin Hartley busier than with Hollywood
This should not come as a surprise to anyone but, on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" back in 2019, Justin Hartley said he's not ready to see daughter Isabella Hartley date quite yet. He put it this way (via People): "She's wonderful, but she's 15 now — 15 going on, like, 50 — and she's dating a little bit. And man, I just want to crawl into a hole and die. I know it's a natural thing, I know it's a healthy thing. She's wonderful, she's sweet, she's responsible, she's great. She's earned the trust. But I hate it. I hate all of it. I've never loathed anything more in my life. 'Cause I loved her first, man! You know what I mean?"
Driving lessons, getting scouted by movie producers, and dating? You couldn't make that stuff up on an episode of "This is Us." However, it certainly does sound like Justin has his hands full while raising a teenaged daughter whom he loves very much. Kevin Pearson would be proud.
