The Strangest Things Celebs Have Admitted About Their Marriage

Celeb marriages run the gamut. While some are salacious romances, others are full of non-stop drama. Outside of this realm also lies the married couples who appear to have normal relationships by all outward appearances, but, behind the scenes, these pairings are anything but ordinary.

Most A-list couples are pros at crafting the illusion of a flawless marriage, but, once they go on the record about their spouses, the poo hits the fan.

At this point, we've heard it all, from the naughty reason Tom Hanks' wife, Rita Wilson, loves to watch Forrest Gump — a confession that may ruin your thoughts on the classic film, BTW — to the impromptu jam session Matthew McConaughey put on while his wife, Camila Alves, was giving birth to their first son.

Sounds pretty weird already, doesn't it? Oh, but wait — it gets worse. Here are the strangest things celebs have admitted about their marriage.

The unusual way Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick cured their money woes

Since tying the knot in 1988, entertainers Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick have had one of the longest marriages in Hollywood. Through the years, we've learned way more than necessary about their romance, including the fact that they're actually distant cousins. Yeah, so, um, moving right along...

As we push the similarities in their family trees aside, we turn to an interview Bacon gave to GQ where the Hollow Man star discussed being one of the victims of Bernie Madoff's infamous $50 billion Ponzi scheme.

Bacon told the publication that, after Madoff got nabbed in 2008 and his financial loss sunk in, he and Sedgwick weren't quite sure how to move forward with their lives. "We kind of went, 'Holy s**t. Let's ... I don't know. Let's have sex or something. It's free!'" he admitted.

That's some 4-1-1 we didn't need to know. Thanks a lot, Kevin.

Sarah Jessica Parker regrets her wedding dress choice

After getting engaged to her now-husband, actor Matthew Broderick, Sarah Jessica Parker knew it was time to find the perfect wedding dress for her 1997 nuptials, but she ran into a major road block. "I just was too embarrassed to spend any time looking for a wedding dress," she said during a taping of Watch What Happens Live (via E! News), before adding, "There was a store that I liked that I knew, and I just went and got whatever they had hanging."

The dress she picked just so happened to be black, and many people praised her for squashing the status quo with her avant-garde gown. However, the former Sex & the City actress told Harper's Bazaar in 2009 that she wouldn't be so quick to buck tradition if she were to have a vow renewal ceremony. "I'm not kidding. White it up. I'd wear a beautiful, proper wedding dress, like I should have worn on the day," she said.

Let's rewind: Not only was she "embarrassed" to go dress shopping, but she settled for a gown that she didn't even like?! SMH.

Luckily, her black dress wasn't a precursor to a gloomy marriage!

Cameron Diaz has a rude pet name for Benji Madden

Cameron Diaz really shocked the entertainment industry when she married Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden in 2015. When Us Weekly revealed the couple only dated for seven months before they became husband and wife, it raised a few eyebrows, but there are far greater quirks about this couple than their quick union.

While speaking with People magazine after saying "I do," Diaz gushed about her new hubby, calling him her "partner in life, in everything." She also said it was nice to finally have someone who supported her, adding, "I look at him every day and he inspires me. I feel so lucky."

We were just about to call them the cutest Hollywood couple of all time but then Diaz chose some interesting words to describe herself and her beau. "We're both just weird enough for each other," she said. "He's my perfect little weirdo and I'm his perfect little weirdo."

Whatever happened to "honey," "bae," or "baby"?

Matthew McConaughey danced his way through the birth of his son

One thing that makes Matthew McConaughey so endearing is his eccentric, IDGAF attitude — oh yeah, and his penchant for cuddling up to armadillos. We're not the only ones who love his idiosyncrasies either. His wife, Brazilian bombshell Camila Alves, is quite fond of him, too.

After forcing him to marry her — as McConaughey described to GQ, she'd instructed him to, "Either s**t or get off the pot" — Alves got pregnant. When it came time for her to give birth, McConaughey pulled out all the stops, though these stops were pretty darn strange. "Contractions started kicking in. I sat there with her, right between her legs. We got tribal on it, we danced to it! I was DJ-ing this Brazilian music," he told OK! magazine.

To outsiders, this probably sounds like the weirdest situation ever, but something tells us Alves didn't mind too much. Granted, she married the same man who got arrested in 1999 for playing the bongo drums in the nude, so we doubt she expected him to show up to the birth of their son with anything less than some thumpin' beats from her motherland.

Zoe Saldana snagged her now-husband's picture off Google

Zoe Saldana told Entertainment Tonight that, when she first started dating her now-husband Marco Perego, she went online, Googled the Italian artist's name, and found a picture of him that became the inspiration for a tattoo that's now located on her left rib cage. "I thought it was a nice profile of his so that was the picture I wanted to have," she said.

In the digital age, Googling your partner is NBD, but it's not something you're supposed to actually talk about. Duh!

Saldana didn't get the tattoo until years later in their relationship and after Perego had already tattooed her face on his arm. The couple wed in 2013, and the Guardians of the Galaxy actress gave birth to their three kids, twins Cy and Bowie and son Zen, whom she debuted on her Instagram feed in February 2017.

Thankfully, their permanent ink hasn't cursed this union.

Is Kat Von D's husband 'worthy' of her?

Kat Von D married Prayers vocalist Leafar Seyer not once but twice! However, if he had allowed his inner voice to get the best of him, it's possible that neither one of their wedding ceremonies would've taken place. Why?

He told Vice's Noisey in March 2018 that he had been in love with the tattoo artist and makeup maven for 14 years but had chosen to admire her from a distance. "I compare it to staring at the sun; it's an impossible task. And to me, she's the sun," he told the publication as he attempted to describe his love for her.

What made him keep his feelings on the hush-hush for more than a decade? "I just never felt like I was worthy of her sunshine," he said. "I honestly worked so hard to get to be where I'm at for her to acknowledge me. She's my life source, and she always has been the source of my inspiration even beforehand."

Wow, that was seriously super sweet but a bit self-deprecating at the same time.

You're worthy, dude. Now get out there and soak up her sunshine, silly goose.

If you're Amanda Seyfried's husband's ex-wife, look away!

Amanda Seyfried met her now-husband, Thomas Sadoski, when they were cast in the off-Broadway production The Way We Get By. Seyfried was dating New Girl actor Justin Long at the time, and Sadoski was married to his then-wife, casting director Kimberly Hope.

There was no funny business going on between the two stars, or so they say. But Seyfried made a strange confession to Porter that made us give her the side eye. "[Sadoski] never flirted, never disrespected his wife. That was another reason why I thought, later on, that I could marry him," she said. Wait. Was she making mental notes about a possible future relationship with Sadoski while he was already married?!

The news source went on to report that, after Seyfried's relationship ended and Sadoski and his ex-wife divorced in 2015, the actors reunited on the set of 2017's The Last Word, and fireworks were popping off all over the place. "It was amazing. It felt healthy and freeing and clean. We can tell the story without any guilt," she said.

She and Sadoski eventually got married in 2017 while the actress was nine months pregnant with their baby girl. Nonetheless, her comments about the first time they met are still pinging our wacky meter.

The real reason Rita Wilson can't stop watching Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump

In an interview with The Graham Norton Show, Tom Hanks told the host that his celeb wife, Rita Wilson, can't get enough of the scenes in his iconic film Forrest Gump — especially when Hanks' character is running away from the camera. It's all because she apparently just can't take her eyes off of his derrière. "I must say my buttocks, as Forrest would say, 'Were as firm as tinned hams,'" Hanks said while impersonating the character's Southern drawl.

Hanks isn't mad at Wilson's fixation either. "I even think [my butt is] a beautiful thing to behold," he jokingly said, noting that he doesn't contest when Wilson asks to watch the movie just so she can witness his "fine Hanks a*s."

Great. Now we'll be staring at Hanks' buns every time we watch Forrest Gump from here on out. Why must Rita ruin everything?!
