Alec Baldwin's Daughter Ireland Shades Him With DNA Test Kit
Ireland Baldwin took a jab (or should we say swab?) at her father, Alec Baldwin. The new mother decided to undergo a DNA test and in the process made a joke about her famous father.
Ireland and Alec haven't always had the best relationship. According to Us Weekly, the "30 Rock" actor and his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, welcomed Ireland in October 1995. Seven years after she was born, Alec and Basinger decided to call it quits on their relationship. In 2007, five years after the couple split, a controversial voicemail left by Alec to an 11-year-old Ireland was released to the public. "The Departed" actor's voicemail said, "I'm a good father, and you're a pig. I don't give a s**t. Good father...You think this is abuse, you thoughtless pain in the a**? ... Get mad you daughter-of-a-b***h." The two already had a rocky relationship following Alec and Basinger's divorce and this seemed to be the nail in the coffin.
However, they say time heals all wounds, and it did just that for Alec and Ireland. In 2013, the former model wrote on Tumblr (via Entertainment Tonight) how she forgave her father and the public should, too. Ireland said, "More importantly, my dad has moved on. He recognized that he needed to change, so he made changes. ...He moved on, so why can't you?" Since then, Alec and Ireland's relationship has gotten back on track, but that doesn't mean the new mom can't throw some shade her father's way.
Ireland Baldwin jokes that she could have more siblings
DNA tests can provide a lot of cool information, like where your family is from, but they can also break some shocking news, like unexpected additions to the family. Ireland Baldwin had no idea what would come from her DNA test and was expecting the worst. The former model revealed on Instagram that she gifted herself a DNA test and even took a jab at her own father, Alec Baldwin, in the process. She wrote, "Happy birthday gift to me – a cool way to find out how many other siblings I might have out there and see just how white I really am. Cheers and thank you for all the birthday wishes!" Although she never mentioned Alec by name, it seemed clear to fans that was who she was referring to.
Now, Alec is no stranger to having kids. He and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, currently have seven children! For the "30 Rock" actor, becoming a parent brings him much joy. In an Instagram post from September 2022, Alec revealed why he loves having children with a heartwarming video of his youngest child, Maria, giggling. He wrote, "People ask why. This is why. Being a parent is the ultimate journey." Seeing as Alec has plenty of kids and enjoys being a parent, Ireland jokingly threw some shade at her father, suggesting he could have potentially fathered a secret child as she prepared to take her DNA test.
