Halsey pretty much manifested her relationship with Evan Peters
Let's rewind: The year was 2013 and Halsey was less than subtle about her crush on a certain American Horror Story star. She tweeted, "I just want cookies and Evan Peters," and in another message, she wrote, "Petition for Evan Peters to date me." Can't forget about this gem from 2014 either — "I'm a f**king liar I'm so in love with Evan Peters I'm so whipped I'm whipped as f**k !" While those posts have since been deleted, there are screenshots posted by BuzzFeed that hopefully wind up in their wedding album one day.
Inspired by Halsey, the whole "tweet about your celebrity crush and it'll happen" idea blew up on social media with lots of people jokingly attempting to predict their own love stories. One fan wrote, "Halsey manifesting her relationship with Evan Peters is iconic. So, watch out Harry Styles I'm coming for you," while another tweeted, "If Halsey can manifest her relationship with Evan Peters then I can manifest my relationship with Sarah Paulson."
For the record, Halsey and Peters aren't the only two with this type of origin story. Bachelor super-fan Sarah Hyland tweeted about being into Wells Adams during JoJo Fletcher's Bachelorette season, and, as fans know, the Modern Family actress and reality TV star are now engaged.
Evan Peters is the Sonny to Halsey's Cher
Dating rumors began to spread like wildfire in October 2019 when People reported that Halsey and Evan Peters were spotted together at Six Flags' Magic Mountain. Witnesses saw the two holding hands and smiling at the park. Around that time, a source told E! News, "A friend connected them and they had also been chatting over social media before deciding to hang out. It's still very new, but they are both interested in dating each other and hanging out."
Although they initially kept mum on the subject, Halsey and Peters made their relationship Instagram official with their "resident gothic" Halloween costumes. The singer shared a photo dressed as Marilyn Manson, while Peters posed as a member of Insane Clown Posse. They also attended another party together as musical duo Sonny and Cher. Considering Peters is used to wearing costume after costume on AHS, it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that he nailed his look — but wow, did they look great. While they've seemingly found bliss with each other, Halsey and Evan Peters have both had rollercoaster-like relationships in the past. Throughout 2019, Halsey dated Yungblud, but they split in September 2019 right before her and Peters got together. She also was on-again, off-again with rapper G-Eazy for a while, but the pair officially split in October 2018. Alluding to her past relationships, Halsey told The Sun in January 2020, "I will say that it's good to not date another musician as then your work follows you everywhere. Now it's my personal life so I get to go home to somebody that I love and spend time with them, and it not be about work."
Meanwhile, Peters and his American Horror Story co-star Emma Roberts dated for seven years on and off starting in 2012 — their time together included a broken engagement. There were also some serious allegations against Roberts, who was arrested for a domestic violence incident in July 2013. Their reps told Us Weekly at the time, "It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding. Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it." In a since-deleted birthday message for Evan Peters' 33rd, the singer shared photo-booth pics of them kissing and wrote (via People), "happy birthday darling. I can't imagine a world without you in it." Halsey hasn't made a cameo on Peters' own Instagram, but considering he's only got a total of six pictures on there, it's definitely not a diss by any means.
According to Us Weekly, the couple already took a major step in their relationship and moved in together after just a few months of dating. A source told the magazine that they're "both weird in the same ways" and that "Evan's friends think they're the perfect duo." Fans will just have to wait and see how their relationship progresses, but, from the sound of it, they're off to a very solid start. And to think, it all started with a few flirty tweets.
