Where Does Shakira Live And How Big Is Her House?

Shakira is a hip-shaking, chart-topping, Super Bowl Halftime Show-performing superstar. And thanks to a career that's brought her international success (and a lot of money), the singer has snatched up properties around the world that suit her culture-crossing, ultra-charmed lifestyle.

For instance, there was the house in Miami Beach that she bought back in 2001 for $3.38 million and put on the market in 2018 for well over $11 million. Spanning 8,708 square feet, the home included six bedrooms (two of which were snazzy enough to be the master bedroom) and seven and a half bathrooms. Behind "[a]n imposing stainless steel gate," visitors will find "[d]ouble front doors" that lead into a space that boasts a "window-lined and light-filled combination living and dining room" as well as a "sleek kitchen," according to Variety.

In addition to, a fitness room that looked "out on to the driveway and motor court," the international superstar also enjoyed "a spacious entertainment wing." Not only did Shakira have access to a swimming pool with "a poolside dining cabana with wet bar," but also a "private dock" — and that's not all! In her home of over a decade, there was  "a media area decked out with state-of-the art ... equipment, a billiards area with an all-white pool table, and [a] sofa-lined hookah lounge set into a windowed bay."

As amazing as that sounds, it was just one of the star's many incredible homes.

Shakira moved into a Barcelona neighborhood where the King's sister lived

Shakira may have spent years in her stunning Miami Beach home, but she eventually found herself spending more time in Spain alongside her Spanish partner, soccer player Gerard Piqué, and their two children, Milan and Sasha. And despite the fact that the singer has faced some legal trouble regarding her taxes in the country, she decided to buy a fabulous new home in Barcelona for her family.

"Early in 2012, the couple purchased a luxury home in Esplugues de Llobregat, Barcelona," according to HomesLuxury.netThink Spain explains that the 1,500-square-metre villa is located in the same area where "King Felipe VI's younger sister and her husband, formerly the Duke and Duchess of Palma, had found a buyer for their own Pedralbes mansion."

However, Shakira's new home wasn't quite to her liking, which is why she set about on a massive renovation on the house that stretches over three stories and features "seven bedrooms, two kitchens, a gym, and a swimming pool with a waterfall" as well as "stunning panoramic views of Barcelona city." Perhaps most importantly for the famous mother, the home "is very private, given that it is surrounded by gardens and dense trees."

It may be private, but it's not as secluded as Shakira's next two properties — yes, there are two more.

Shakira also owns a resort villa in Cyprus

Shakira may have spent the majority of her time in Miami before settling in Barcelona, but, apparently, she also likes to dash off to Cyprus when she has the chance. That's where the popular performer owns a villa that's tucked away in an exclusive resort community.

Located in Peyia, Paphos, the resort features plenty of fun for Shakira and her family, including "a state-of-the-art spa, heated swimming pools, water sports, yoga, horse riding, [and] cycling lanes," according to In-Cyprus.

As for the home itself, the six-bedroom, eight-bathroom villa has a private cinema, a fitness center, a Jacuzzi, and even a wine cellar. There's also an "outdoor pool [that] overlooks the endless blue of the Mediterranean sea with Yeronissos [island] in the background." However, that's just one of the pools. The property has "both indoor and outdoor pools," Greek Reporter explains, noting that there are also "thermal spas." In-Cyprus notes that those in the area who have interacted with the pop star say "she is very excited over the villa, the village, and especially the sea."

Shakira obviously loves life by the water, which is surely why she also owns an island in the Bahamas.

And then there's Shakira's island in the Bahamas

Who needs one house when you can have three or four? Frankly, Shakira could afford to have plenty of other properties pretty much wherever her heart desires, but they would likely have trouble topping her island in the Bahamas, which is one that she shares with two other music industry stars.

Shakira has "long maintained a residence in The Bahamas where, so the international real estate scuttlebutt goes, some years ago she, Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters, and Grammy-hoovering Spanish singer/songwriter Alejandro Sanz together paid around $16 million for an approximately 700-acre island known as Bonds Cay," Variety reports.

HomesLuxury.net explains that the private island, which sits "north of [the] Bahamas, [is] about 125 km off the east coast of Florida," and features three saltwater ponds as well as five beaches.

However, the stars may not be enjoying the island alone forever as "the purpose of its purchase was the building of a star-studded resort." Perhaps in the future, you'll be able to snap up a fabulous home on Shakira's island in the Bahamas and live like the star herself.
