The Real Reason Megan Fox And Brian Austin Green Broke Up
Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Brian Austin Green confirmed during a May 2020 episode of his podcast that he and his wife of 10 years, actor Megan Fox, have broken up. Green has a son from a previous relationship, as well as three boys with Fox — Noah, Bodhi, and Journey.
Before we get into the split, let's first recap their romance. The now exes first met in 2004 on the set of the sitcom, Hope & Faith, when Green was 30 and Fox was 18, per E! News. "I remember literal electricity shooting through me and out me from every direction," Fox told The New York Times Magazine about their first meeting. "It was like magic." The two got engaged in 2006 but called off the wedding three years later. After reconciling, the pair married in 2010, and in 2012, they welcomed Noah into the world.
Just one year after the birth of their second son, Bodhi, the couple announced their separation in 2015. However, the duo confirmed their reconciliation in 2016, along with the news that they were expecting their third child together.
Although the two appeared to be on solid ground — especially since Fox filed in 2019 to dismiss her divorce petition from 2015 — it appears they're done. The timing is interesting because Green confirmed in his podcast that they separated at the end of 2019.

Is Machine Gun Kelly responsible for the split?
On May 17, 2020, TMZ published photos of Megan Fox hanging out with Machine Gun Kelly (real name Richard Colson Baker), her co-star in the movie, Midnight In The Switchgrass. Brian Austin Green shared a cryptic post seemingly in response to the pics, captioning a shot of a butterfly, "Eventually butterflies get bored sitting on a flower for too long. They start feeling smothered. It's a great big world and they want to experience it."
Green got way more direct about the Machine Gun Kelly speculation during his podcast, explaining, "She met this guy, Colson, on set ... I've never met him ... Megan and I have talked about him. They're just friends at this point." The dad added, "I trust her judgment, she's always had really good judgment. I don't want people to think her or he are villains or that I was a victim in any way."
Gossip aside, it's clear Green wants the best for Fox, even if it hurts. "It sucks when life changes and something that you're used to, that you've been doing for 15 years, you try and not get rid of but you change," he shared. "There's the unknown aspect ... there's that pit in my stomach I really don't want Megan and I to be at odds ... she's been my best friend for 15 years and I don't want to lose that."

Although Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox are largely private in nature, they also aren't afraid to share painful details about their longterm relationship. Case in point: In a conversation with Access Hollywood, Green got honest about how their age difference had put stress on the romance. "She was 18 when I met her, and she went through an enormous change in her life because of her career in general," he explained (via POPSUGAR). "So she went through the natural period of, 'I'm not sure if I'm ready to be in such a settled relationship.' I have an 8-year-old, and he was 2 at the time that Megan and I met. She helped me raise him, and that's a huge responsibility."
Whatever might have happened, it's clear Fox and Green are committed to being a family. "I will always love her," the actor said during his podcast. "And I know she will always love me and I know as far as a family what we have built is really cool and really special." He also noted that the pair will "still do family vacations and holidays as a family and really make that a focus for the kids."
