Here's How Much Steph Curry Is Really Worth

In 2019, Golden State Warriors star Stephen "Steph" Curry got the number nine spot on the Forbes list of the highest-paid athletes in the world. He also landed the number 23 spot in the magazine's Celebrity 100 list that same year. Back in July 2017, USA Today reported Curry renegotiated with the Warriors, signing a record-breaking $201 million contract. He was the first NBA player to earn more than $40 million per season.

The five-year deal has Curry earning around $40 million annually, just from basketball alone. Initially, that contract made him the highest-paid NBA player ever. However, Houston Rockets star James Harden topped that with a $228 million contract extension from the Houston Rockets.

Throughout the years, Curry has spent his money to make even more. He started SC30, a company that manages his investments and brand partnerships. Speaking of brand partnerships, Curry has endorsed Brita, formed a global partnership with Nissan/Infiniti in 2017, and had a multi-year deal with JPMorgan Chase, which Forbes confirmed in May 2016. In other words, this guy is no stranger to making money.

Steph Curry makes more than $20 million from Under Armour

In 2019, Forbes ranked the richest NBA players in terms of their sneaker deals. Michael Jordan landed at number one, of course. LeBron James followed, with Kevin Durant taking third place. Right after that is Stephen Curry with his $20 million-dollar Under Armour contract. The Golden State Warriors player received a $2.5 million dollar offer from Nike in 2013, according to a 2015 Sports Illustrated article.

Obviously, that number is nothing to scoff at. However, Curry passed on Nike when Under Armour offered him a $4 million annual contract. In addition to the conventional shoe endorsement, Curry got something more. Sports Illustrated reported that Curry's 2015 contract extension runs through 2024 and includes an equity stake in the company, which means he will bring in even more money personally, based on Under Armour's success.

In a press release, Curry stated, "In the first two years of our partnership, we accomplished so much both on and off the court, and I'm looking forward to being part of the brand's story for the rest of my playing career and beyond." The NBA All-Star also promised, "The best is yet to come."

With his record-breaking salary as a member of the Golden State Warriors, his multi-year endorsement deals with various brands, and his business investments, Curry's net worth has been estimated at $130 million by Celebrity Net Worth in 2020. At this rate, there's no doubt that figure will keep growing year after year.
