The Truth About JoJo Siwa And Colleen Ballinger's Relationship

Even though there is quite a big age difference between YouTubers Colleen Ballinger (AKA Miranda Sings) and JoJo Siwa, the two have made multiple appearances in one another's videos over the past few years. Ballinger — who was a huge fan of Siwa's show Dance Moms before they met — linked up with Siwa for the first time in 2015 at The Cheesecake Factory. During their dinner, Siwa and Ballinger made jokes, danced, and chatted. "Okay, well that was officially the best day of my life," Siwa said in a vlog about her time with Ballinger.

After their initial meeting, Ballinger and Siwa formed a solid bond. The two frequently upload YouTube videos together, where they react to old videos, devour food from California Pizza Kitchen, or babysit Ballinger's baby boy, Flynn. Ballinger even made an appearance at Siwa's 16th birthday party in 2019. "I had so much fun. I love her so much," Ballinger gushed in one of her videos. "It was just the best night ever. And I love JoJo."

So, what is Ballinger and Siwa's relationship really like? Let's find out.

Colleen Ballinger sees JoJo Siwa as 'a little sister'

Clearly, Colleen Ballinger and JoJo Siwa are two peas in a pod. In January 2019, the YouTubers filmed their reaction to raw footage of Ballinger giving birth to her son in 2018. During the video, Ballinger said, "JoJo is like a little sister to me." She added, "If you've watched any of my videos, you would know this by now, and I thought it would be fun to torture her today because that is what big sisters are for."

Ballinger pointed out that Siwa doesn't have a biological big sister — she has an older brother, Jayden Siwa — so she feels the need to step in and take on the role. "I have two pretend big sisters," Siwa responded, referring to Ballinger and Ballinger's sister, Rachel, who is also a YouTuber

Despite their 17-year age gap, Ballinger explained what makes their friendship so special. "She's like the sweetest, most generous, kind girl," Ballinger told Siwa in one of her videos. "The reason I love you is because of, like, how you are answering about the hate." She continued, "You're so mature and so kind. Every time I have needed a friend, like, JoJo is there. Any time anyone in my family has needed anything ... you're there."

She added, "I have known you for so long now ... I have known her for a long enough time to know who she is and, like, she is just a good person."

Colleen Ballinger is part of JoJo Siwa's support system

In 2018, some of JoJo Siwa's followers wrote mean comments about her on social media, which she didn't appreciate. "The thing is, people are making fun of me for my hairline, they claim I am going bald. I think my hair is fine," Siwa told Colleen Ballinger about the drama in 2018. "They are making fun of me because I'm "dressing like a toddler" and because I look young. And that I will say is a personal thing, like, I do dress like that, I don't care."

Additionally, some of Siwa's followers commented on her height — she is 5'9" — which she obviously can't control. Luckily, Siwa said she "literally" doesn't care about the comments because she has a great support system. "I have people like you, and I have my family and I have my friends," she said. "That's what, like, my team was telling me ... They were like, 'We love you more than anyone could ever hate you.'"

At the end of the day, Ballinger is proud of the Dance Moms alum for how she handled all of the criticism. "I'm surprised at how strong you are for being 15 [years old] and getting the amount of hate that you get," she said. Luckily, Ballinger has Siwa's back — no matter how bad things get. "She is genuinely, like, the best person I know. She is the sweetest," Ballinger gushed.

Clearly, these two are the definition of #friendshipgoals.
