Strange Things About Chrissy Teigen And John Legend's Relationship

Grammy-winning musician John Legend and model-turned-media boss Chrissy Teigen are easily one of the most talked-about couples in Hollywood, probably because they're insanely hot (don't forget, Legend was crowned People's Sexiest Man Alive in 2019) and wickedly funny. On the surface, they shine bright in the limelight, but if you dig deeper into any relationship, there are always at least a few flat-out weird things that couples do. You know, like sharing a toothbrush or a Facebook account. Fortunately for us, Legend and Teigen have no filter, and all of their relationship, shall we say, "quirks," are on display for the world to see.

These two have been together since September 2006, first meeting on the set of the singer's "Stereo" music video. They got engaged five years later in December 2011, and tied the knot in September 2013. Over the course of those nearly 14 years together, they've both admitted to some seriously odd things, which sort of makes us love them that much more. Let's break it down below.

Chrissy Teigen devoured tabloid gossip about John Legend

As the story goes, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen's meet-cute occurred when she was cast as his love interest in Legend's "Stereo" music video. To hear Teigen tell it, as she did to Cosmopolitan, the two "hooked up" that night at the pianist's hotel, but they didn't immediately start dating. As Legend headed out on tour, Teigen said she tried to give him his space. "I let him be himself for a while," she told the mag — though they stayed in touch via phone calls and texts.

It was in those early stages that Teigen began devouring as much dirt as she could on the singer, divulging to Vanity Fair that she would read anything she could about his love life. "He was kind of known at the time for either being in the closet or a modelizer," she said. "I used to go on the websites and it was always either how I was his beard, or how he paid his past serious girlfriends, or how he was with some new model. Oh my God, I would read everything."

We mean... same, TBH.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are, uh, not shy about their love life

Leave it to Chrissy Teigen and John Legend (but let's face it, especially Chrissy Teigen) to tell all when it comes to their love life. In 2014, she revealed to Cosmopolitan that the pair had joined the Mile High Club, explaining that one of the "craziest places" they slept together was mid-flight while going to visit her parents. "We were on our way to Thailand to see my parents, flying commercial first-class," she said. "We were under a blanket. We weren't even in one of those pod things. I feel like we should get a trophy for that."

At the 2015 Grammy Awards, the couple was asked by Extra to name the most public place they've ever done it. When Teigen answered, "probably that Obama thing," some were led to believe that the two actually did it at the White House (though Teigen quickly denied that). They later clarified the location — like, exact location — on Watch What Happens Live, as per Refinery29, telling Andy Cohen it was during an Obama campaign event. In Legend's dressing room, the singer said. Specifically, in the bathroom, according to the model missus.

Chrissy Teigen Twitter roasts John Legend on the reg

Take a scroll through Chrissy Teigen's Twitter timeline, and chances are, you'll see a tweet poking fun at John Legend in some way ... sometimes light-heartedly; sometimes not so much. But sarcastic and hilarious? Always.

Take, for example, the time Legend, a coach on The Voice, wanted to bring his fellow coaches and the winner of the show back to his house for a celebratory dinner — without telling Teigen why the timing was kind of a big deal. "I didn't know tonight was the voice finale. John invited everyone to dinner at the house after and I'm really f**king mad because I didn't make a f**king FINALE meal," she tweeted at the time. "I would have gotten a cake or something too?? Who the f**k does this? U don't win the voice then eat short ribs."

Teigen also expressed relatable outrage at a lyric from Legend's album, Bigger Love. "Listening to john's new album for the first time," she tweeted in May 2020, sharing a lyric from one of the songs: "You know there's a lot of women tryin to take your place." To which Teigen responded, "b*tch what the f**k?"

Legend tried to make amends by then revealing the romantic lyric that followed that one: "But I'm focused. Focused on you." Legend referred to it as the "punchline," but Teigen one-upped him once again, asking if he even knew what a punchline was.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, never change.
