Ella Langley Is Unrecognizable Without Her Signature Bangs
Unless you're completely out of the loop when it comes to music, there's no way you've missed the quick rise to stardom for country queen Ella Langley. The young singer has taken over with her hit songs, with her biggest chart-topper being her 2025 single "Choosin' Texas." The song broke records left and right. But one of the other major draws of Langley happens to be her great fashion and recognizable hair.
You can't help but be drawn to her dark hair and bold bangs that perfectly complement her retro country style. But it turns out that Langley hasn't always worn her hair this way, and she looks quite different without the bangs. Back in 2022, the singer performed at the CMA Fest. While she was already starting to gain attention for her music, she hadn't yet adopted her signature look. At the time, she wore her brown hair in a middle part with slight layers and no bangs. Of course, she still looked great, but it was a far cry from how she looks these days.
It might surprise some people, but even a minor style change, like Langley adding fringe bangs, can completely change a person's look. And that's what happened with the "Don't Mind If I Do" singer. They might be the same person, but the Langley from 2022 barely looks like the Langley who attended the iHeartRadio Music Awards in 2026. At the more recent event, her hair was much longer, with soft curls and eye-catching bangs that fanned out around her face. Langley's unexpected beauty transformation helped create her vibe as we know it now.
Ella Langley's signature look came about from a rush haircut she did herself
Ella Langley shared the story behind her iconic bangs during an appearance on Theo Von's "This Past Weekend" podcast in April 2026, a couple of months after her song "Choosin' Texas" hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She said that it wasn't really planned. Instead, she made the impromptu hair change when she randomly trimmed her fringe before a stage performance. First, Langley admitted, "I have a bad tendency to cut my own hair. Most of the time it goes bad."
She explained that the impactful moment came after she had been wearing cowboy hats for a while and "it was windy one show and it was pissing me off." Thankfully, she said she liked that her "bangs were kind of around my face" without the hat. So, "Like 20 minutes before I walked out onstage, I decided to cut my fringe a little bit, and it was so bad." But clearly, Langley and her creative director Caylee Robillard could still see the vision. They decided to "full send it with the bangs" while shooting the cover images for her first record, and it really made an impact.
As for whether or not Langley would ever try her hair without bangs again, she wasn't so sure. She declared, "I don't think I can ever change it. It changed my life a little bit, I would say." It seems safe to say that Langley's bangs have become a key part of her image as a musical artist, but we wouldn't mind seeing her try something new again at some point in the future.
