Tina Louise was a major star and bombshell in the '50s and '60s, so it isn't surprising that she has a stunner of a daughter. The "Gilligan's Island" star welcomed her only child, Caprice Crane, in November 1970, during her short-lived marriage to radio and TV announcer Les Crane. Caprice, who turned 55 in 2025, is beautiful in her own right. While she doesn't bear a strong resemblance to her famous mother like some daughters do, Caprice has a unique beauty that makes her stand out in a crowd.

As the 2020 picture above shows, Caprice has dark brown hair that contrasts with Louise's auburn shade (though red isn't the former star's natural hair color, btw). Her dark hair highlights her striking green-blue eyes, which are further accentuated by her strong, dark brows. Caprice also has a distinctive facial structure that gives an edgy quality to her beauty. Social media users often point out that she hit the genetic lottery. "You radiate your Mom's beauty!" a Facebook user commented under the picture.

Caprice is well aware that her genetic stock is pretty darn privileged, as she often shares pictures of her parents in their youth. In November 2023, she gushed about Louise and Les' good looks in their heyday. "How freaking cute were my parents?!" she captioned the Instagram post (seen above). In April 2026, she shared a picture of Louise and Les' wedding day in 1966 and once again raved about it. "They sure were good looking," she wrote. Caprice certainly has her parents to thank for her unique beauty.

Caprice Crane is successful in her own right

Despite having the looks for it, Caprice Crane didn't follow in her mother's footsteps with a modeling and acting career. But she did carve out a pretty successful career in Hollywood, albeit in behind-the-scenes roles. While she may not be as widely known as Tina Louise or Les Crane, she is a screenwriter, TV writer, and author, whose TV credits include the "90210" and "Melrose Place" reboots. Early in her career, she wrote for MTV and VH1. Later, she pivoted toward fiction writing, with five books under her belt.

While she wanted to follow Louise into acting when she was a child, she never pursued it. In a way, her desire to become an actor may have just been a response to her surroundings. Being Hollywood royalty may sound unique to most of us, but not so much in Los Angeles, where some kids become more famous than their celebrity parents. "When you're growing up with the children of Tony Bennett or Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner, you just think adulthood means you grow up and go on TV, like that was just part of life," she told L.A. Parent in 2024.

After she welcomed her boy-girl twins in October 2017, Caprice also discovered another passion: children's clothing. Amid the WGA writers' strike in 2023, she launched Royal Orchard Clothing, adding entrepreneur and businesswoman to her already impressive resume. It may sound like an odd path, but she thinks it plays wonderfully into her skillset. "Screenwriters use words to create vivid imagery and to convey a character's emotions, while fashion designers use textiles, colors, and patterns to communicate their ideas and evoke a certain mood," she told Authority Magazine in 2024.
