Danica Patrick Shares Cryptic Quotes After Breakup With Aaron Rodgers

Following her split from Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in July 2020, former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick posted a few cryptic quotes on her Instagram Stories. One quote was from Vienna Pharaon, a licensed marriage therapist, about chosen relationships, according to Page Six. It reads, in part, "Look at the chosen relationship in your life and notice any themes. What role do you play? Who are you with them? Who do you believe you need to be? What stories do you tell yourself about what they can offer you? What can they or can't they handle?"

Patrick shared another quote, this time from relationship coach Connor Beaton, and it reads, "The pain that we are given is the pain that we pass on." Hmm.

Both quotes touch on pain and struggles in relationships, likely where it concerns romantic ones. Considering Patrick's breakup with Rodgers seemed pretty sudden — she shared an Instagram photo of them on April 11, 2020, and everything seemed fine — these vague quotes could allude to a painful breakup. It's even bad enough that Patrick reportedly unfollowed Rodgers on Instagram.

Is Patrick trying to tell fans something with her posts? We can't say for sure, but we do know how Rodgers has publicly handled the split.

Aaron Rodgers has stayed true to form post-breakup

Danica Patrick and Aaron Rodgers first sparked dating rumors in 2017, with Us Weekly confirming their status in January 2018. The relationship came five years after they met in 2012. Sadly, they called it quits in summer 2020, with Patrick's rep making the official announcement to Us Weekly on July 16, 2020.

During their together, Patrick and Rodgers seemed totally smitten with each other, having endless nice things to say about the other. The NFL star told Artful Living in 2018, "We're just two people who enjoy being around each other and love each other. We're really into each other. So there are going to be [social media] posts with each other because we enjoy each other's company a lot." Similarly, Patrick told Us Weekly in 2018, "You can rely on yourself or you can also rely on those closest to you that are honest. Not people that want to tell you what you want to hear, but people that are gonna tell you what you need to hear and be honest with you," noting how she counted on Rodgers for that.

As for Rodgers' actions post-breakup, he hasn't posted on Instagram since June 3, 2020, as of this writing. The NFL star is is typically very reserved about discussing his romantic life or his family feuds in public, and he appears to be exercising the same caution in the midst of this breakup.

Meanwhile, fans are still reeling over what might have been.

Supporters of their relationship were sure a wedding was in the future

Danica Patrick's breakup from Aaron Rodgers has their supporters especially bummed because it seemed possible that these two were headed for wedded bliss. A source told E! News in March 2020 that Rodgers was planning to put a ring on it. "Aaron is planning to propose, 100 percent, for sure. It's not a matter of if, but when," the insider said. Welp.

Patrick seemed content with her relationship, proposal or not, if we're judging by an appearance she made on Jenny McCarthy's Sirius XM show in November 2019. She talked about marriage with McCarthy (via E! News): "That's one of those things. You can't be attached to something going a certain way because if you really want something to happen, there's that equal energy of being afraid that it's not going to happen. You just have to let it go and be like well, am I having fun today? Yep? Then life's good. I'll probably get proposed to tomorrow now."

Aaron Rodgers has kept quiet about the breakup

Both Aaron Rodgers and Danica Patrick are active on social media, though Patrick more than Rodgers, which is why we weren't surprised to see Patrick's quotes on her Instagram story. She frequently shares motivational messagesworkout inspo, and all kinds of photos with Rodgers. Rodgers' Instagram, though primarily dedicated to sports (he is an NFL quarterback, after all), also featured photos of Patrick from time to time. Until February, that is.

February 14, 2020, was the last time Rodgers posted a photo with Patrick, and April 11, 2020, was Patrick's last photo of the two of them together. The pair occasionally spoke about each other in interviews, though not excessively. They weren't an Instagram couple that shared every detail of its lives, though a source did tell E! News in March 2020 that Rodgers had started to be more open about his private life because he was proud to have Patrick by his side. It seems now, though, that Rodgers decided against that and is holding his cards close to his chest on this breakup.

For now, Patrick's mysterious quotes have us scratching our heads a little bit and wondering just what might have happened, but we certainly wish them both the best.
