Not to be confused with the same-named 2003 crime drama starring Anson Mount and Leslie Bibb, "Line of Fire" has become one of the breakout hits of 2026, posting an impressive 8.6 million viewers for its premiere and achieving an 87% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Executive produced by Jenna Bush Hager, whose experiences as First Daughter have loosely informed the show, the NBC hit revolves around the Hollingsworths, a family of federal law enforcement agents who become embroiled in a dangerous and fatal conspiracy.

And "Line of Fire" boasts quite the ensemble, too, including "Six Feet Under" favorite Peter Krause, Oscar nominee Sam Waterston, and one of the few child actors who've made the transition to adulthood look easy, Anna Chlumsky. But who do they all go home to once all the espionage, undercover activity, and all-round crime-fighting has been filmed? Here's a look at the romantic histories of 10 cast members.

Kat Cunning and Jules Latimer have proposed marriage three times

Kat Cunning, who plays FBI Special Agent Clare Hollingsworth in "Line of Fire," is one half of a prime-time power couple. For her fiancée, Jules Latimer, is also a regular face on our screens thanks to her role as Eve Edwards in firefighting drama "Fire Country."

And the pair can definitely be described as romantic. As explained during an interview with "Today," their engagement was confirmed by not just one but three separate proposals in quick succession. Cunning was the first to pop the question in a Joshua Tree hot tub. But not to be outdone, Latimer then did the same on a private yacht to the sounds of the '80s classic "Dirty Dancing." And just to make sure, the latter once again asked for Cunning's hand in marriage later that same evening while on dry land.

The couple celebrated the news on Instagram with a carousel of photos from the various happy occasions. And Cunning also revealed when they realized that Latimer was 'the one.' "A three-course meal on the day we met, it left seeds in our teeth," they wrote. "And we left wishing for a flosser, as much as we wished we had kissed ... You sent me a picture of one when you got home. You showed me early that you could give me what I ask for, and teach me what I need."

Hope Davis and Jon Patrick Walker have made sweet music together

Hope Davis plays Jane Hollingsworth in "Line of Fire," a U.S. Marshal who's estranged from Deputy Special Agent husband Mike. In real life, the Golden Globe nominee has been happily married to Jon Patrick Walker for more than two decades.

The latter is no stranger to the spotlight, either. He's enjoyed recurring roles in sitcoms "Holding the Baby" and "The Fighting Fitzgeralds," guested on "Law and Order," "Blue Bloods," and "The Knick," and appeared in the films "Thunder Force" and "The Secret Lives of Dentists." Walker has also graced the stage, most notably as King George in the musical phenomenon that is "Hamilton."

The couple, who have two children together, Georgie and Mae, have also worked together professionally. In 2018, Walker showed off his singer-songwriter talents with the EP "You and I." And its self-described "unadulterated love song," "Your Open Hand," was a duet with the similarly multi-talented Davis. Speaking to Film Ink, the latter recalled how her other half also helped with her performance in Wes Anderson's "Asteroid City." "I was kind of having trouble understanding the different worlds and how they were going to look," she said of its script. "Then I gave it to my husband who's a Wes superfan. And he immediately understood it. And then I read it again. And then Wes sends a bunch of images and then you start to get the world of it a little bit in your head."

Charlie Barnett and Drew Bender have been engaged since 2022

Kat Cunning isn't the only "Line of Fire" cast member with a wedding to look forward to, although it appears that Charlie Barnett is in no rush to walk down the aisle just yet. The actor, who plays Mike's veteran son Jack Hollingsworth in the NBC drama, got engaged to set dresser Drew Bender back in 2022. But as far as we know, the couple haven't yet made it down the aisle.

Barnett, who also had one of the most dramatic exits from "Chicago Fire," did seem excited about the prospect of getting hitched at the time, telling Page Six that he and Bender were already thinking about the ceremony. And as well as being "very bohemian," guests could expect a Western flavor, too.

"I worked on a ranch for many summers while I was at school at Juilliard," Barnett explained about the inspiration behind the planned theme. "It was a nice outlet from doing all this mental work, and I just needed to do something physical — build a fence, wrangle." The Florida native also admitted that he may have bridezilla tendencies, particularly concerning their choice of location. "Wyoming is a difficult place to find things ... Like, where the f*** do I find a porta potty in the vicinity of Salt Lake City? I don't want to have to ship it."

Sam Waterston and Lynn Louisa Woodruff have just celebrated their 50th anniversary

Sam Waterston, who plays the one-time President of the United States and assassination survivor Thomas Barnes in "Line of Fire," is undoubtedly the cast member with the longest-lasting relationship. The Hollywood veteran has been wed to one-time model Lynn Louisa Woodruff since 1976.

Waterston, who previously had an 11-year marriage — and son James — with Barbara Rutledge Johns, first met the former Vogue regular while he was treading the boards in a Central Park production of a Bard classic. "She would say that Shakespeare had nothing to do with us getting married," the Academy Award nominee joked to Parade in 2022 about their meet-cute.

The couple, whose three kids — Elisabeth, Katherine, and Graham — have all followed their father into the showbiz industry, have said little about their 50-year relationship. When asked about the secret to their success by the same site, Waterston simply replied, "I think it's true that a happy wife is a happy life."

Chris Chalk and Kimberley Dalton Mitchell wed in style

Chris Chalk, who plays the reigning President of the United States, Kayana, in "Line of Fire," has been married to fellow actor Kimberley Dalton Mitchell since 2017. And from the sounds of things, their Asheville wedding was quite the spectacle.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Chalk revealed that they shipped their guests — including former co-stars DeWanda Wise and Alano Miller — to the reception in an unforgettable manner. "I think there's something about a school bus that immediately humbles you," he explained about their choice of transportation. The thespian, perhaps best known for his role of Bruce Wayne's business manager Lucius Fox in "Gotham," and his bride also gave attendees strict but sexy guidelines on what to wear for the occasion.

"Our actual instruction was, 'Dress how you would dress if you knew you were going to make out with somebody that night,'" Chalk disclosed. And the newlyweds also knew exactly what they wanted from the man responsible for getting everyone on the dance floor: "We told our DJ, 'Pretend you're DJing for the club. That's what we want. Just trying to throw the ultimate dance party.'" Six years later, the pair played husband and wife on screen in "Our Deadly Vows," a horror about a one-year anniversary celebration that goes fatally wrong.

Campbell Scott and Kathleen McElfresh are partners at home and work

Campbell Scott, who plays Jane's United States Senator boyfriend Terry Cross in "Line of Fire," has twice said, "I do." The first time was in 1991 when he walked down the aisle with Anne Scott, with the pair divorcing just over a decade later. And the New Yorker became a married man again in 2009 when he exchanged vows with fellow actor Kathleen McElfresh.

The pair had first met two years previously at Boston's Huntington Theater, where Scott was appearing in a production of "The Atheist" and McElfresh in a play by the same author, Ronan Noone, named "Brenden." However, as revealed in a red-carpet interview, they have different recollections of the night in question.

Scott claims that he made the first move after ingratiating himself with McElfresh's castmates. However, his wife believes that she was responsible for their meet-cute, remarking (via Boston Herald), "I saw him and I had a crush on him. He's not going to tell you that, but I saw him and I was like, 'I have a crush on him. I'm going to talk to him.' And then I did." In 2015, the pair worked together for the first time in a staging of "The Second Girl" at the Boston Center for the Arts, with Scott serving as director and McElfresh as its leading lady.

Pico Alexander is dating Eleanor Lambert

Spoiler alert for anyone yet to watch the "Line of Fire" premiere: Pico Alexander plays Clare's boyfriend Logan, who, after being unceremoniously killed off, is suspected to have been an undercover operative who faked his relationship in order to get closer to the Hollingsworth family. In real life, however, the actor — who continues to show up in flashbacks — appears to be the model boyfriend.

Judging by their history of red-carpet appearances together, Alexander seems to have been romantically involved with Eleanor Lambert since the late-2010s, with the pair gracing everything from the 2018 premiere of "Bel Canto" to the 2024 screening of "Y2K." As the daughter of Oscar nominee Diane Lane (who was once married to Josh Brolin) and "Highlander" star Christopher Lambert, she is no stranger to the spotlight herself. She's also appeared in several short films, guested on "Dead Ringers" and "FBI: Most Wanted," and taken top billing in the thriller "Time Now." Furthermore, as a journalism graduate from New York University, she's written for the likes of VICE and Teen Vogue.

During a 2022 interview with Nerds that Geek, Alexander revealed that he likes to bounce off Lambert while preparing for roles. Referring to his audition for comedy "The Honeymoon," he said, "I'd be reading the script cracking up and you know, I'd be sitting on the couch and my girlfriend would be like, 'What are you laughing at?' And I'd be like, 'Go check this out. Look at this scene. So funny.'"

Anna Chlumsky and Shaun So have lasted the long distance

Anna Chlumsky also didn't get much screen time in "Line of Fire." In fact, her Deputy U.S. Marshal character Libby Farrell was killed off within its first few minutes. Thankfully, her relationship with Shaun So has been much longer-lasting, although they've had to overcome several obstacles over the years.

After meeting at a college party at the turn of the century, they spent much of their early courtship apart due to So's position at Washington, D.C.'s Department of Defense and Chlumsky's fact-checking post-graduate role in New York. Then in 2003, the former was deployed to Afghanistan for a tour of duty. "Being a family member ... of a serviceman or -woman is a lonely experience," the "Veep" star revealed to Glamour about this particularly difficult period. "Every military spouse or loved one has, at one time or another, felt as if no one understands what they're going through."

So eventually returned home in early 2006 and two years later, he and Chlumsky exchanged their vows. "We'd come to the conclusion that life is only better with each other in it, despite any and all uncertainties, and we'd resolved to rely on our collective stubbornness to make it for the long haul," the latter explained about their decision to fully commit. In 2013, the pair became first-time parents with the birth of Penelope and three years later, added to their family unit with the arrival of Clara.

Tyler Posey has explored his sexual identity with wife Phem

Tyler Posey, who joined the "Line of Fire" cast in the fifth episode as Russell's NSA agent friend Brandon Hayes, has had quite the dramatic narrative arc when it comes to his real life. In 2013, he got engaged to Seana Gorlick, the childhood sweetheart he'd been dating for a decade, only for the pair to call time on their relationship soon after. In 2021, he came out as queer, and two years later, he said "I do" to alt-rock vocalist Phem.

"It was this deep solidified trust, confidence, and then it just grew even more with getting married," former "Teen Wolf" star Posey explained to People about his connection with the singer, which was initially forged over their shared love of music during the pandemic. "That same feeling, and we didn't expect that. We're like, 'We're going to get through anything,' and the love just grows more and you become more of a partnership, or at least that's the way it should be."

In an interview with the NME, Posey praised Phem, who he collaborated with on the 2020 single "Shut Up," for enabling him to discover the full extent of his sexuality. "I've been with everybody under the sun, and right now I'm in the best relationship that I've ever been in with a woman, and she's queer too," he gushed.

Peter Krause and Lauren Graham split after 11 years together

Sadly, not every "Line of Fire" cast member is so loved-up. Peter Krause, who plays Deputy Special Agent Mike Hollingsworth, looked set to last the distance with fellow actor Lauren Graham. But in 2021, 26 years after they first met on the set of sitcom "Caroline in the City" and 11 years after they first got together while shooting dramedy "Parenthood," the couple announced their split.

While Krause, who has a son, Roman, with previous girlfriend Christine King, has so far kept schtum about the reason behind their separation, Graham has opened up like never before. "I think part of all the positives of having known each other for a really long time were there," the "Gilmore Girls" star told People. "And one of the negatives of that is we almost came into a relationship as people in their 40s without asking any of the questions people in their 40s should be asking."

"We had such a good time together that I didn't maybe ask some fundamental questions about 'What are your values and what do you envision?' and those more grown-up things," added Graham, who also opened up about their time together in the essay collection "Have I Told You This Already? Stories I Don't Want to Forget to Remember." "And then they just caught up with us."
