Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have officially entered their wifey eras after getting married only months apart from each other, but they're not exactly trading pointers as one might expect them to. Following a string of high-profile relationships, Gomez finally found "the one" in music producer Benny Blanco, whom she married in an intimate California ceremony in September 2025 after a little more than two years together. Meanwhile, Swift got her own fairytale ending when she tied the knot with her husband Travis Kelce, in what has been dubbed "America's royal wedding," over the Fourth of July weekend in 2026.

Speaking on the red carpet at her Rare Impact Fund Benefit in October 2026, Gomez shared her excitement over the fact that she and Swift are now both married (despite earlier reports that Gomez used to side-eye Swift's relationship with Kelce. Hmm.). "No, I love that!" the Rare Beauty founder gushed during an interview with ET. Even though she's been married longer, Gomez doesn't feel the need to give Swift any advice when it comes to navigating marriage. If anything, she believes she's the one who could be learning more from her bestie, saying of the music icon, "I think she's probably the best to give me that." After all, that's always been their dynamic.

Since the early days of their friendship, Gomez has leaned on Swift for wisdom and emotional support. In 2009, she identified Swift as her go-to person whenever she needs advice on romance or anything else, telling Seventeen magazine, "Every single problem I ever have is healable by Taylor Swift! ... she gives the most thought-out answers." Gomez also enthused, "Because of her, I haven't lost faith [in love]."

Selena Gomez clearly looks up to Taylor Swift

That wasn't the only time Selena Gomez has spoken fondly of her friendship with Taylor Swift. In 2014, she also revealed one of the greatest pieces of advice she learned from her longtime pal about stepping outside of her comfort zone and choosing the right people to surround herself with. " ... she just kind of looked at me and was like, 'Selena, if you're the smartest person in the room, I think you're going to be in the wrong room,'" Gomez said on "The Talk," according to E! News. "She thinks I should constantly surround myself with people who are going to make me better, that are going to challenge and motivate me. It kind of stuck to me." And, during an interview with WSJ Magazine in 2020, Gomez said Swift helped her see her own worth and has stood by her side both through the good times and the bad.

Judging by what Swift has said of their friendship, it appears the feeling is mutual for her, too. In a statement given to WSJ, the "Bad Blood" singer revealed that she's always felt a sort of familial affection for Gomez ever since the two started getting close in 2008, thanks in part to the Jonas Brothers. "There has always been this quality of sisterhood, and I don't say that in a basic way," Swift told the outlet. "I knew from when I met her I would always have her back." And while she may be capable of forgiving her ever-growing list of enemies — as Swift's history with Katy Perry shows — she wasn't so sure she could offer the same grace for anyone who'd hurt Gomez. Now that's what you call a true friend.
