Jessica Simpson's First Post-Divorce Relationship Has Quite The Age Gap

After years off the market, Jessica Simpson is dating again. A little over a year after Simpson and Eric Johnson's marriage imploded in January 2025, the "Dukes of Hazard" actor moved on with a much younger Nashville musician. In April 2026, news surfaced that she had been romancing Tom Eisenhood since around January. While the stagehand is pretty low-key, we know he is nearly 13 years younger than Simpson. "This sexy b***ard turns 26 today, go write on his Facebook wall that he doesn't look at (jk I love you guys) is it weird that I'm writing my own birthday post?" he wrote on the Instagram page of his former band, Stoop Kids, on February 8, 2019, which means he was born in 1993. Simpson's birthday is July 10, 1980.

This marks a deviation in Simpson's relationship history, which doesn't include younger lovers. But so far, the age gap has not been a problem. "I am happy. I'm very happy," she told a TMZ reporter at an airport in October 2026. Her brief remarks suggest she and Eisenhood were going strong after months of speculation. While Simpson has kept the relationship largely to herself, she and Eisenhood have been spotted together a few times.

In early October, they attended Albuquerque's Balloon Fiesta Park, where they were said to be acting very much like a couple. In April, an insider gave insight into how the new romance was going, echoing the words Simpson would use months later. "She's happy. She's in a great place, excited for her future," the source told People. As of this writing, the new relationship certainly seems to be working. 

Jessica Simpson is, before all else, a pop star. She started out as a singer and has remained close to the music industry even as she branched out into acting and entrepreneurship. It was through her friends in that scene that she is said to have met and bonded with Tom Eisenhood. "Tom has been in the music industry for a long time," a source told Us Weekly in June 2026. "He tours a lot, so they spent a lot of time together by working closely." But we shouldn't expect to see much of him, even if the relationship progresses.

Eisenhood, a saxophone player who works largely behind the scenes in music production and operations, prefers to stay out of the spotlight, and Simpson is reportedly not trying to change that. "He is a very low-key guy and Jessica likes that about him," the insider added. But besides her new beau's preference for privacy, Simpson also has other reasons to take things slowly. Simpson has three kids with ex Eric Johnson, who have been her priority since their seemingly inevitable split. "The goal has been to keep everything as stable and as friendly for the kids as possible," the People insider explained.

In April 2026, TMZ reported that her children had not yet met Eisenhood. It's unclear whether that has changed since then. For now, Simpson and Eisenhood are keeping the relationship away from the public, so only time will tell whether the age-gap romance will evolve into something more serious.
