The Untold Truth Of Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert is a powerhouse in the country music scene. The Grammy Award winner and multi-platinum-selling artist has been all over the charts and around the world on tour, but how much do you really know about her? Let's rewind back to the very beginning.

Lambert was born in Texas in 1983. Her parents were both in law enforcement, but after losing everything, they turned to religion and started their own ministry. They took wayward people into their homes, which Lambert talked about with The Guardian in 2016. She said this period in her life is what inspired her to write "Gunpowder & Lead." She started singing as a teen, headlining the same small venues that hosted the early days of fellow music greats Brooks and Dunn and even Elvis Presley.

Lambert self-released her debut album in 2001, and stayed on the small scene in Texas for a couple years. In 2003, she competed on Nashville Star, finishing third and landing a record deal with Epic.

From there, Lambert's star has continued to rise. She's written and released seven more studio albums to date, an EP, dozens of singles, and a couple dozen music videos. She's won more than 50 awards, including two Grammys and 27 Academy of Country Music Awards. She even formed her own girl group, Pistol Annies. And though Lambert has made plenty of headlines with her music, she's attracted plenty of press for her personal life as well.

Miranda Lambert's personal life has been messy

Miranda Lambert famously dated and then married fellow country superstar Blake Shelton. They got married in Texas in 2011, but announced they were divorcing just four years later. "This is not the future we envisioned and it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately," their statement said, per ABC News.

The two have never opened up about what went wrong in their marriage, but Country Living compiled a good amount of evidence that points to possible infidelity, including a tweet from Shelton alluding to karma when Lambert supposedly started dating a married man. He wrote, "Been taking the high road for a long time... I almost gave up. But I can finally see something on the horizon up there!! Wait!! Could it be?! Yep!! It's karma!!"

When Lambert started dating Turnpike Troubadours frontman Evan Felker in 2018, he was reportedly still married but promptly split from his wife. However, that breakup was not necessarily linked to his new relationship with Lambert.

Lambert quietly wed New York police officer Brendan McLoughlin in 2019. Lambert now has McLoughlin's help with another important, but lesser known part of her life — her animal foundation, MuttNation. She started the organization with her mom in 2009 to help shelter animals.
