Romance might be on the horizon for Chris Rock and Carmen Ejogo. The two actors were spotted having dinner together in New York City on Sept. 26, 2020, marking the first time they were seen together in what could be taken as a romantic setting. The funnyman, who lives in the New York area, and Ejogo were photographed by The Daily Mail on their dinner outing, but as of yet, neither has said anything about their night out. They looked plenty cozy while enjoying a meal in New York's West Village before leaving hand-in-hand.
If Rock and Ejogo are dating, it'd be Rock's first public romance since splitting from his last girlfriend, Megalyn Echikunwoke, in early 2020. The two parted ways after four years of dating, according to Page Six, and sources told the media outlet that it was due to Rock not being ready to settle down after his divorce from his wife, Malaak Compton-Rock. The two split up in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2016. They had been married for 18 years and share two kids, Lola and Zahra.

She was very briefly married to trip-hop star Tricky in 1998, whom she did vocals for, but they divorced mere months after saying "I do." Her first marriage is not something she talks about, even now.
Ejogo also married actor Jeffrey Wright in 2000. They met while working together on HBO's Boycott and have two children together, Elijah and Juno. However, this marriage didn't last either and they divorced in 2014. Ejogo told the Evening Standard in 2016 that, after her divorce, she went back to acting to show her kids what a working woman can achieve. "There are a lot of logistics, and you're probably always going to feel guilty, but you also realize that you're a great role model for your daughter — and your son, which is equally important."
Only time will tell if Rock has gotten past his relationship hangup and whether or not he's ready to move on. For now, these two look like they're just getting to know each other a little better.
