The Strange Thing Jessica Alba Wasn't Allowed To Do On 90210

In October 2020, Jessica Alba joined the long list of celebrities taking on First We Feast's Hot Ones challenge, eating the spiciest of wings while answering revealing questions. The Fantastic Four actor shared details about how she manages acting, producing, and running her Honest Company, and spilled the tea on the strange alleged requirement on the set of Beverly Hills 90210.

"On the set of 90210, I couldn't even make eye contact with any of the cast members, which was really strange when you're, like, trying to do a scene with them," Alba claimed during the segment. The actor played Leanne, a pregnant teen, on Season 8 of the hit series back in the 1990s. She continued, "Yeah, it was like, 'You're not allowed to make eye contact with any one of the cast members or you'll be thrown off the set.'"

So is there any truth to Alba's claim? Here's what some 90210 alums had to say about the situation.

90210 stars react to Jessica Alba's claim

A few cast members of Beverly Hills 90210 caught wind of actor Jessica Alba's claim that she couldn't make eye contact with them while on set, and denied it was their rule.

90210 alum Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth discussed the rumor on their iHeartRadio podcast90210OMG, in which Garth admitted she had the most scenes with Alba on set. "I had all the scenes with her," said Garth. "Like, if anybody was, you know, didn't want to have their eyes looked into, it would've been me. But I don't remember, because I have the world's worst memory." Castmate Tori Spelling chimed in, sharing it could've been a rule started by producers.

Actor Jason Priestley, who played Brandon Walsh, told KiSS 92.5's The Roz & Mocha Show, "I don't know who told Jessica Alba not to look at us." In the interview, Priestley, who said he never worked with Alba, felt sorry that the actor had to experience such a strange request. "She was in a storyline that I had nothing to do with so I don't know what her experience was on the show, but I'm sorry that happened to her and it seems really incongruous with everything else that happened on our show."

It sounds like this situation was one big miscommunication, but who can say for sure!
