Here's What Happened After Chelsea Handler Asked Out Andrew Cuomo

Comedian Chelsea Handler has never been one to self-censor. This sentiment was on full display when the New Jersey native appeared on The View in October 2020 to talk about a wide range of topics, from her views on the election to her relationship with 50 Cent. When the subject turned to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Handler did not hold back, calling him "this big, Italian hunk." She quipped, "He came in like the Incredible Hulk."

Handler said that she felt so "dehydrated for real leadership" that she would have done anything Cuomo said. finding his competence very sexy. "He's like, 'Wear a mask.' I'm like, 'I'll wear a mask. I'll put a mask on every part of my body! I wanna flatten your curve, and you can flatten my curve,'" the star joked.

Handler was so into Cuomo's leadership, that she actually asked him out on a date. However, the politician's response to the move was surprisingly clumsy.

Was Chelsea Handler ghosted?

Appearing on The View, Chelsea Handler revealed that she actually did ask New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on a date months before and that he supposedly left her hanging. "I did ask him out on a date, and he did say yes," Handler claimed. "And then I never heard from him!"

Although The View co-hosts promised Handler they would interrogate Cuomo on her behalf when they had the chance, the governor seems to have his hands full. Cuomo has three children, and before the pandemic, he came out of a 14-year relationship with TV chef, Sandra Lee.

We don't want to say that Handler doesn't have a shot, but the competition to be Mrs. Cuomo is certainly steep. According to the New York Daily News, Cuomo and his brother, CNN's Chris Cuomo, ranked as the most desired men in the state, beating out the Jonas Brothers. Seeing as Chris is already married, Andrew is the only brother anyone who is available. Competition may be tough, but Handler, we're rooting for you.
