90 Day Fiance: Why Natalie Is Having Doubts About Marrying Mike

The consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic have been wide-ranging, and even those who haven't fallen ill have felt the effects of the disease. Months of stay-at-home orders and social distancing have changed the day-to-day lives of just about everyone, and with change comes stress. That stress often plays out in romantic relationships — which brings us to 90 Day Fiancé, a wonderfully cringy reality TV show about long-distance international couples.

In a year of uncertainties, the chaos that is the crown jewel of TLC has remained a constant. Even the cast of 90 Day Fiancé and its spinoffs weren't safe from the challenges of COVID-19, though. Case in point: it's rumored that 90 Day Fiancé star Natalie Mordovtseva of Ukraine left her fiancé Mike Youngquist with one day to go before their wedding. A sneak peek showed Natalie dealing with the potential ramifications of leaving her fiancé and getting on an airplane during a global pandemic, per Us Weekly.

What could have been bad enough for Natalie to risk her health by traveling halfway around the world just one day before her wedding? We've got some theories, so read on to find out.

Natalie can't get over the past

Natalie Mordovtseva and Mike Youngquist haven't had an easy go of it. Fans were surprised to see them return for Season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé when it seemed that they had all but confirmed their breakup at the end of Season 7, per In Touch Weekly. Their romance began innocently enough — they met when they were each asked to be godparents to a mutual friend's child. Their relationship, though, has been anything but ordinary. Mike proposed to Natalie after meeting her just once, and soon enough, they found themselves on TLC, according to In Touch.

It was more or less downhill from there. In a sneak peek for an upcoming episode, Natalie, who has been in Washington state with Mike, tearfully packs her suitcase and laments the state of her relationship as she seemingly prepares to return home. "I will fly to Europe, and from there, I will figure out how I [will] get home. I don't know honestly yet how," she said, "I feel scared because of coronavirus, and I have to f**king go through the airport. It's f**king scary, and it's not okay."

Natalie is convinced that Mike cheated on her. In the Season 7 reunion, it came out that Natalie thought Mike had an affair with his best friend. Mike denied the allegations. However, since Natalie leaving was just a sneak peek, we'll just have to wait and see who's actually telling the truth.
