Brad Pitt Makes First Public Appearance Since Divorce Bombshell
Brad Pitt made his first public appearance since his divorce from Angelina Jolie was announced.
On Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, Pitt, 52, worked the red carpet and gave a brief speech at a private screening of the movie Moonlight, which was released via Pitt's Plan B production company. Entertainment Tonight reports that Pitt was in good spirits at the screening. TMZ reports that Julia Roberts was on hand, even though she wasn't involved in the project just to support her purely platonic pal.
Pitt was last scheduled to promote the film Voyage Of Time in September, but cancelled the appearance due to his family drama at the time.
People reports that Pitt is also scheduled to appear at the premiere of his World War II film, Allied, on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016. This event may cause some drama: Page Six reported that Jolie, 41, filed for divorce after she hired a private investigator who revealed that Pitt was having an affair with his co-star, Marion Cotillard. Cotillard, 40, firmly denied the allegations.
Still, the outings may be a welcome distraction for Pitt.
As Nicki Swift previously reported, on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, Pitt filed for joint custody of the six children he shares with Jolie in his divorce response to her initial September 2016 filing. Pitt currently has supervised visitation with the couple's six children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8. Jolie's rep issued a statement on Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 that she would retain sole physical custody of the children and that she and Pitt reached a divorce agreement, but sources denied it. Insiders claimed that the custody agreement is temporary pending investigations by the DCFS and FBI into Pitt's interactions with the kids, particularly an in-flight fight with Maddox that allegedly may have gotten physical.
