The Truth About Maria Menounos' Future Children

There are lots of exciting life changes ahead for TV personality Maria Menounos. As People noted, the former Extra host shared on the Jan. 5 episode of Better Together that she and husband Keven Undergaro, who have been open about their surrogacy journey over the years, will welcome home babies in 2021. What's more, Menounos revealed on the podcast that she and Undergaro are "definitely entertaining" packing up and taking their family to Nashville, calling it "the perfect place."

"Well, we're gonna have kids this year," she said on Better Together. "We're like, 'Where do we want to raise a family?' And it's not necessarily [Los Angeles]. I don't know when it'll be but I think yeah, you know, I think we're going to end up [moving]. We'll see." As People pointed out, she's touched on the subject of having kids in 2021 on the podcast before. On a Dec. 15, 2020 episode of Better Together, she said, "They're definitely showing up next year. I was gonna say around a certain time, but I won't share yet because I don't wanna." She also joked about putting "Diva No. 1 and Diva No. 2" on the babies' Christmas stockings.

And a few months before those Better Together episodes aired, Menounos spilled that there are multiple kids on the way. On an August 2020 episode of Live with Kelly and RyanMenounos let it slip that she and her husband plan to "try for more than one" baby. "Um, oops. Well, there you go," she said after she revealed the news.

Maria Menounos has been open about the surrogacy process

Maria Menounos and husband Kevin Undergaro told People in 2018 that they wanted to start a family, but were also factoring in the benign brain tumor Menounos was diagnosed with in 2017. "I'm very concerned about her going through a pregnancy, and I would like to explore [using a] surrogate because her body has been through h***," Undergaro said. That same year, Menounos shared with Us Weekly that fellow E! star Kim Kardashian was a fantastic resource. "Miss Kim K. has connected me with all of her people," she said.

In 2019, Menounos revealed to ET that she and her husband officially got the ball rolling on finding a surrogate. "Today, Kevin finally sent in our paperwork to the surrogate agency because it's been sitting on my desk for, like, two weeks," she shared with the outlet. However, when the coronavirus pandemic hit, things slowed down a bit.

On an August 2020 episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, Menounos opened up to Ryan Seacrest about where she was in the process. "Pre-COVID, we finally found our surrogate, Ryan, so we were super excited," she recalled. They hit the pause button when pandemic-related restrictions were put in place, but they started "progressing again" later in the year. And now, it looks like 2021 is going to be a big year for Menounos and Undergaro.
