The Untold Truth Of Conor McGregor's Fiancee

Conor McGregor's partner, Dee Devlin, has been with the controversial UFC fighter through thick and thin, and in January 2021, she showed fans that she's there for him in victory...and in crushing defeat. The pregnant mother-of-two couldn't contain her emotions when the Irishman got knocked out for the first time in his career. In footage obtained by The Sun, a teary Devlin is seen embracing her fiancé just after his third career loss against Louisiana fighter Dustin Poirier.

Following the emotional match in Abu Dhabi on Jan. 23, 2021, Devlin commented: "I love you" on McGregor's Instagram post. Not appearing to be too phased by the result, McGregor uploaded a picture of him relaxing by the water, and in the caption, he thanked fans for sharing the love. "Thanks for the support everyone. Was not my night/morning in there but a great contest to improve on. I'm excited at the blockbuster trilogy I now have on my hands." He also wrote that he's elevating his leg and also his "spirit" on the way home.

No doubt a supportive Devlin will help raise his spirits before he takes to the ring again. The Irish couple have been together for more than a decade, both parenting and working together. Let's take a closer look at this power couple.

Conor McGregor's fiancee stuck by him despite arrests

Conor McGregor's decade-long career has not been without controversy. In fact, his private life has often overshadowed his professional pursuits.

In 2018, he was "handed a six-month suspension and fined $50,000" after fighting outside the ring with rival Khabib Nurmagomedov in Las Vegas, reported CNN. That same year, McGregor was also "charged with assault, attempted assault and criminal mischief after he and others allegedly attacked a bus carrying UFC fighters."

In early 2019, McGregor was investigated but not charged after a woman accused him of sexual assault, per The New York Times. That same year, he was slapped with a felony charge after delivering a KO to a cell phone belonging to someone trying to take his picture in Miami. He garnered more bad press when video surfaced of him allegedly landing a punch "to the head of an elderly man in an Irish bar in a dispute over whiskey" in Dublin, Ireland, according to TMZ.

Conor McGregor and Dee Devlin go way back

Conor McGregor met Dee Devlin in 2008 when he was just a 19-year-old plumbing apprentice. According to Page Six, he and Devlin grew up in the same neighborhood in Dublin, Ireland. McGregor told Ireland's The Late Late Show (via Evoke) that they connected on the dance floor. "We met at a friend's party like way, way back and then the usual social media, a little bit of a like here, and a like there and then a message," he said.

McGregor quit his apprenticeship to focus on mixed martial arts, and Devlin helped chase his dreams. "Everyday since I started in this game, she's supported me. She'd drive me to the gym, and she'd listen to all my dreams. I wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't for her," he told VIP magazine.

The couple welcomed its first child, Conor Jr., in 2017, and a daughter named Croia in 2018. McGregor and Devlin announced their engagement in August 2020 on Instagram, and on Christmas Day 2020, they surprised fans yet again by revealing that they were expecting their third child. McGregor shared an adorable photo of his family wearing festive pajamas as their son held up an ultrasound image. "So much to look forward to in 2021," the caption said.

Conor McGregor is proud of his life with Dee Devlin

According to The Sun, Dee Devlin's life seemingly revolves around her family with a focus on raising her children with famous fighter Conor McGregor, and also on helping him manage his MMA career. As an official employee of McGregor, Devlin reportedly takes care of the fighter's finances and helps McGregor with his training.

Devlin's hard work is something McGregor decidedly does not take for granted. In a November 2017 interview with The Irish Mirror (via The Sun), McGregor expounded upon how much her loyalty and work means to him, especially in those early days before he became a household name. "My girlfriend worked very hard throughout the years and stuck by me when I had essentially nothing," he said at the time. Now the couple is living large. "For me to be able to take her out of work, give her everything she's ever wanted and to travel the world with, fills me with pride."
