What Dale Moss Just Said About His Split From Clare Crawley

Less than a month into 2021, Bachelor Nation has already been rocked by breakups. On Jan. 19, Dale Moss and former Bachelorette Clare Crawley were the latest to call it quits, according to a since-deleted Instagram in which Dale called the breakup "the healthiest decision for both of us at this time."

For those who haven't already noticed, it is something of a trend for couples to announce splits via matching social posts and pictures, but there were no twin Instas in the case of Clare and Dale — and the decision to part ways wasn't quite so "mutual" after all. "I was made aware of a 'mutual' statement at the same time you all were, so I've needed some time to really digest this," Clare wrote when she took to Instagram, adding that she was "crushed" by the split.

Since the somewhat acrimonious post from his ex, Dale's name has also been linked to New York City real estate agent, Eleonora Srugo, according to Your Tango. Sources close to both parties were swift to debunk the cheating rumors, per Us Weekly, but the fact remains that it didn't take long for things between Dale and Clare to turn messy. On Jan. 25, Dale broke his silence once more, this time sharing a series of Instagram Stories that shed light on where he currently stands with Clare. So, what did the former NFL player have to say? Let's take a look.

Dale Moss says his breakup with Clare Crawley has 'sucked'

It looks like Dale Moss is keen to smooth things over and move forward following the cheating allegations and highly-publicized breakup — and who could blame him? "I know a lot of y'all have seen me smiling on social media and say I don't seem as hurt or burdened by this, but that's the farthest thing. This time has sucked," he began, candidly addressing his followers via Instagram stories, per People. After thanking his friends and family for their support, the Bachelorette contestant alluded to the difficulties of life in the public eye, stating that "there's no one person to blame in this situation."

Dale also seemed to argue that Clare Crawley wasn't unaware of the relationship ending. "We've had our ups and downs ... this [the split] didn't come out of nowhere." (OK, so maybe it's possible the breakup was more mutual than Clare would have us believe.) "I love Clare and respect Clare enough to let her know how I feel, even if that's against the expectations of everybody else, and it's gonna take time," Dale stated. He also echoed Clare's comments by saying, "I put my heart and soul into it [the relationship] each and every day."

In the wake of this sad news, here's to hoping that at least Matt James and Tayshia Adams have found their forever loves.
