The Kansas City Chiefs coach adores his wife of 40 years, even referring to her as his "real trophy" in a press conference following his team's 2020 Super Bowl win.

Coach Reid and his wife, Tammy, have been married since Aug. 8, 1981, and the Reids raised five children. The couple met at Brigham Young University, and they are devout Mormons, according to the coach's life story on the Chiefs' website.

Tammy's settled in nicely as the wife of a football coach, sharing her thoughts as part of her husband's story on his team's site: "I had no idea what our lives were going to be like. I was just a roll-with-the-punches kind of girl and I'm a bloom-where-you're-planted kind of girl. So we'd move. I'd get everybody ready, I'd get the house ready, we'd sell the house, do whatever we needed to do, jump in the U-Haul, and we'd just move." Andy and Tammy Reid work hard to balance work and family

According to the Kansas City Chiefs website, Tammy Reid is the only person who calls her husband Andrew — a nickname clearly reserved for the coach's loved ones only. Coach Andy Reid and his wife both prioritize their family, and Tammy even shared with the team's website some of the ways they've balanced their hectic life. Coach Reid routinely went to work at 3:30 a.m., working until 7 a.m. when he came home to have breakfast with his kids and take them to school.

Tammy said, "He would go in at these crazy hours and then he would come home by a quarter to 7 and do breakfast with the kids. He then would drive one group to school and I would take the others."

Coach Reid and his wife had their share of challenges raising five children during their 40-year marriage. Sons Garrett and Britt struggled with drug addiction; their oldest son Garrett died in 2012 after a drug overdose at age 29 (via USA Today). The Reids continue to hold their son close, though, even after his death. When the Chiefs won the 2020 Super Bowl, Tammy told the Philadelphia Inquirer that Garett was with them.
