The Real Reason Why Christina Haack (Formerly Anstead) Was Just Spotted In A Wedding Dress

HGTV star Christina Haack is generating a lot of buzz in 2021. Not only did she decide to drop her ex-husband's name, Anstead, and bring back her maiden name (hello Haack!), but now she's been spotted in a wedding dress. Back in September 2020, the Christina on the Coast star announced her separation from her husband of less two years, Ant Anstead. According to People, "The Flip or Flop star officially filed for divorce and joint legal and physical custody of their son Hudson London ... in November [2020]." So, why are photos swirling around of her donning a wedding gown if she's embracing the single life?

Her other ex-husband and Flip or Flop co-star Tarek El Moussa is the one who is actually planning a wedding. In 2020, Tarek — who was married to Christina from 2009 to 2018 – got engaged to Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young. Tarek and Heather have been pretty public about their relationship and plans for their wedding.

Does that mean Christina's photos of her in a wedding dress signify that there's someone new in her life that's wanting her to walk down the aisle for the third time? We did some digging to find out why she was in a bridal salon and why she was photographed wearing a wedding gown. Keep reading to get the inside scoop.

Christina Haack was just 'playing dress up'

So, why was Christina Haack spotted wearing a sparkly, plunging wedding dress? HGTV fans can calm down. Christina is not engaged, planning to elope, or planning a wedding. It turns out she is just being a really good friend. According to People, Christina's BFF and publicist Cassie Zebisch is the one who will be walking down the aisle. Cassie — who has appeared on Christina on the Coast — got engaged in March 2020 to boyfriend James Schienle. They announced their snowy Park City, Utah proposal via Instagram.

Since Christina is best friends with Cassie, it's no surprise that she joined her gal pal at the bridal salon to help her with wedding dress shopping. While at the salon, Christina decided to try on dresses to lighten up the mood. Per People, she took to her Instagram Story to share a shot of her wearing an oh-so gorgeous, sequin-covered wedding dress — the same one featured in the photos circulating the internet. Alongside the photo, she wrote: "Playing dress up with my fav @waltercollection," meaning she was just having fun supporting her bestie.
