Christina Anstead's Big Change On Social Media Explained

It seems like celebrity splits have been on the rise in the new year. January 2021 alone generated bombshell breakups, including Zoë Kravitz and Karl Glusman, Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas and Elliott Page and Emma Portner. But 2020 threw us some curveballs, too. Remember when HGTV personality Christina Anstead announced her divorce from her husband of less than two years, TV host Ant Anstead, in September 2020?

The Flip or Flop star got super candid when sharing her side of the story on Instagram, writing that she "never thought [she] would have one divorce let alone two." She added, "Instead of getting stuck in these 'setbacks' I choose to look at these challenges as opportunities to grow." Though, as of this writing, Christina has yet to publicly address the aftermath of the split, she seems to be keeping busy and doing well, according to her ex-husband, Tarek El-Moussa

Her show, Christina: Stronger by Design, launched on Discovery+ in January 2021, focusing on health and her journey to find "peace after a tumultuous year," per People. "This show goes even deeper into my 2021 plans and things I'm currently doing to stay happy and at peace," Christina told with the outlet. But Christina: Stronger by Design isn't the only new thing in Christina's life these days. Keep reading to learn about her big change on social media!

Christina Anstead switched up her Instagram profile

On Jan. 26, 2021, People reported that Christina Anstead updated her Instagram profile by changing her bio to reflect her maiden name, "Christina Haack." Despite the change, at this point, her social media handle still reads @christinaanstead. Maybe it's only a matter of time until that is updated as well? Either way, the Insta update seems to be a clear sign that the HGTV star is set on healing and embracing her true self as she moves forward from the split. (P.S., she's not the only celeb to send a message through her Instagram bio in 2021!)

While Christina is keeping fairly quiet on the details of the breakup, her ex, Ant Anstead, has taken a more vocal approach. In a December 2020 interview with People, the Wheeler Dealers host opened up about the physical toll the split took on his body. "It really hit me hard. The impact on me, my sleep, my diet, my stress, it showed," he explained, revealing that he lost more than 20 lbs. But after recognizing he needed help, Ant signed up for an online "breakup recovery" class and a "three-day faith based retreat," both of which spurred the healing process. It's good to see that both parties are seemingly taking healthy steps in the wake of the split.
