On Feb. 14, 2021, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry broke the happy news that they are expecting their second child via a black and white photograph in which Meghan cradled her growing bump. The news came over two years after the couple announced that Meghan was pregnant with her and Harry's first child, Archie, and exactly 37 years to the day that British tabloids confirmed Princess Diana was pregnant with Harry.

While no mention of the due date was made in the Instagram post, the rumor mill is already working overtime as internet sleuths and fans speculate about the baby's name and where he/she will be born. (Meghan announced her first pregnancy in October 2018 — seven months prior to Archie's birth — so taking that pregnancy as a template, Meghan might be due to give birth in September 2021.)

The decision to use Instagram as a mouthpiece is undoubtedly modern, but it's also a break in royal tradition. And now that Harry and Meghan have made the choice not to return as working members of the royal family, it seems clear that the pair will be handling this pregnancy on their own terms. That being said, sources close to Harry and Meghan suggest they already know plenty about Baby Sussex #2, including the baby's sex.

Harry and Meghan reportedly know the sex of baby #2

According to the royal biography Finding Freedom (via Hello Magazine), Prince Harry and Meghan Markle knew they were having a boy prior to Archie's arrival. In February 2021, one expert told the Daily Mail that the same is true this time around, revealing that the couple "already know the sex of their baby."

Royal biographer Ingrid Seward told the Daily Mail that she believes the couple have a name picked out, and it's likely to be less traditional considering the fact that Harry and Meghan are "free of royal constraints" this time around. "I'm certain that neither of them will feel obliged to use any of the standard royal names," Seward told the outlet. "I imagine they might go for the Victorian style names, which are all symbolic of colors," she added.

Others speculate that Meghan and Harry will pay homage to their family members with baby #2. According to the Daily Mail, "names favored by punters include Elizabeth and Philip — the names of Harry's grandparents the queen and Duke of Edinburgh — with odds of 6-1." That being said, the name "Diana" seems to be a bit more favored, as it's "priced at 10-1." All that being said, Harry and Meghan are known to do things their own way, so perhaps the pair will surprise everyone with a truly creative moniker.
